Multi Culti are proud to present the debut EP from Sao Paolo's Voodoohop resident, Thomash.

DJ Thomash has set up one of the most influential nights in the bazooming Brazilian scene with his Voodoohop party, a fusion of tropical hedonism and avant-garde trance-inducing European electronic music, a lively mix that no doubt has its genesis in his transplanted German roots (he's from Cologne aka Kompakt-ville). He's shared the stage with guys like Rebolledo, Joakim, Acid Pauli and more, and now finally looks to colonize the world with his first release.

Interestingly, Thomash has a degree in artificial intelligence, so while it might just be our imagination, it does seem that the rhythms, full of oddly tuned percussion and colorful synth stabs seem imbued with a distinct internal logic, playful forms that bounce off each other in their own reality, according to their own laws. This narrative of the ethnoid, German-Brazilian AI ties in nicely with the title: Candomble is the name of an Afro-Brazilian religion, meaning literally 'dance in honour of the gods.' Fortunately for us, Thomash seems to be honouring some scarcely acknowledged, far-out deities... spritely DMT-elves. Ectoplasma further plays into this reading, both in title and in vibe, floating unconcerned with material dancefloor goals into a space of peaceful imagination and spirit. Finally, Calango Fumando Palha is a soft, dreamy morning peyote-fire anthem… a healing latin lullaby to soothe troubles and set positive vibes free.

Called in to take us deeper into the trip are Multi Culti's go-to sooth-sayers DREEMS, who lead us forwards in full-chakra-alignment with the originals, bringing bigger bass into the heart of the jungle, tripping on acid, leaving us loose-limbed, wide-eyed, and open-minded in bliss as the final chords tuck us in and kiss us goodnight. After a huge year that saw The Hacker & Gesaffelstein’s ZONE Records release acclaimed EPs from artists like Arnaud Rebotini, Remote and Djedjotronic, the label kicks off 2014 with a new three track EP from one of France’s most exciting producers, Maelstrom.

Hailing from an ancient French harbour city, Maelstrom grew up in Techno filled dark and grimy warehouses. Now he spends his days shuttered in darkness, working on his own music and his nights at clubs, raves and festivals passing that music on, inspiring another generation.

With releases to his credit on labels such as Boys Noize, Sound Pellegrino and Dirtybird, not to mention three acclaimed releases on ZONE over the past 18 months Joan-Mael’s remixes and original productions represent a perfect synthesis of past and future, Detroit, France and beyond.

Now returning to ZONE Maelstrom picks up where he left off with the stark and dissonant 'Discord' EP. Three tracks that range from pulsing apocalyptic Acid to pipe banging Techno and Cybertronian Electro-Funk - it’s cold, remorseless yet brutally funky and sure to cement his position as one of Europe’s leading underground producers.

This set was recorded live at Kiss & Tell in Brooklyn on October 6, 2010. I was in Brooklyn to DJ at The Bunker the week before and agreed to do a special set of EBM and New Beat for Kiss & Tell at Rose. It was a great night full of classic tunes played out to a crazy Brooklyn party crowd.

Thanks to Dasha and Lars for finishing this experimental techno mix during a busy year of them. For this mix, they called it " B SIDES " techno, the idea of this mix came from dirty techno with experimental edges, live made special techno for Smoke machine. When we received this mix, it reminds us that Dasha played a very unique experimental set at Labyrinth festival in Japan, when you start listening to the mix, you'll know what to do.

Dasha also played at Smoke Machine party last year, it was one of craziest night we never had. This year, we will have LADA live first debut in Asia, event hosted by Smoke Machine and Bitta from DJ NOBU's label at Unit Tokyo.
