Electronic music producer and DJ Vicente, known as VCHO, was born and raised in Valparaiso, Chile where electronic music goes all night long. Inspired by techno and house music, VCHO curates a thoughtful experience for his listeners with a beat that can’t be ignored. Now based in the cozy town of Whitehorse, Canada, VCHO plays in local shows and festivals, bringing a unique sound to the North.

Deep within the Aotearoa bush, a Punga was born...  Emerging from the darkness of the forest floor the young sapling became enthralled with the beat of the forest and the magic of the creatures who lived there. Slowly he grew towards the light at the top of the canopy, until one day his fluffy head popped its way through and he truely understood the duality the world around him.

Punga used this understanding of light, dark and these driving rhythms that inspired him to put together electric sets of Garage, Breaks and/or Techno that takes the listeners on a journey through layers of their own consciousness and the collective one that surrounds us all. Much like the koru that sits atop the Punga tree, Punga is ever unfurling and exploring new realms so expect elements of nostalgia, psychedelia, organic sounds, mantra, ethnic instruments, hip hop, vocal samples, blues, reggae, jungle, dub, DnB,  and beyond to layer the audial space while you cut some sacred shapes to the high energy rhythms that have you and the crew moving. 

This is some ass shaking, hip moving, foot stomping, touch the light, dance with the darkness, break it up, hug your mate and drop it hard type of business.
