The Saddest Song I Know

[I went through Robert Louis Stevenson's book of child verses, picking a bunch of lines I liked. then I wrote a song around some of those verses. I adapted some of them to fit the melody and meter, and I also added a few lines of my own.]

Sailors sing of rope and things
The organ man sings the rain with me
The bat that lies in bed
loves to be our under the moon

Rain is falling, all around
falling on umbrellas
why can’t you see it in my mind
I’m being to feel the strain
From all the cold, cold rain — 
In my head and this sun is not a bed
As the world is full of things

A pricey new  never-up-ending appliance to really put you on the map.

A bill paying, consuming, full-fledged member, an eagle eyed user of woods.
The good boys club isn't accepting new members, I think that you misunderstood.
A shiny gold cloak that masks up your existence will just fall away in the end.
A doctor, a seamstress, a lover, a mistress, a cleaner, a banker, a friend.

The Consumer
