"Cosmic Pint Glass" is certainly not really famous yet but nonetheless one of the most promising new label from Uk. We noticed the imprint with its very first release by "Ruf Dug" and uploaded some tracks from their third instalment by "Duke Slammer" on a youtube channel of ours.  As winter kicks in its nice to know there are parts of the world where its still sunny and hot. Cosmic Pint Glass release an EP to help you get sweaty on the dancefloor while reminding you of these hot tropical locations. Artists "Simple Symmetry", "Selvy" (who will soon deliver a LYO mix)talented swiss "Jack Pattern" and "Pan Solo" have teamed up to create an EP of powerful heat!  Russian brother duo "Simple Symmetry" soundtracks the final leg of the ep using particularly tribal drums and a meanly played kalimba. Driving the track forward is an unmistakably bass line but our arrival isn't fully signalled until the Simple Symmetry chaps finally crack out the pan pipes and the whole village go mental ! Vinyl should land within a few days in all good dealers around the globe

Jay Rossi, aka East London DJ stalwart Jac The Disco, returns with the Highest Heights EP, which will be released digitally on US label Wonder Stories. 10 years of DJing all over London at venues like fabric, XOYO, 93 Feet East and the Queen of Hoxton has left Rossi with an instinctive grasp of what works on the dancefloor. 

‘Good Times’, a low-slung underground disco number that really speaks to the hips as its lazy, sun-drenched vibes echo through the ether. Anchored by a sinuously tropical guitar bassline, soaring FX and scintillating claps, this number really highlights the warm groove-led aesthetic that’s central to the whole Jac The Disco sound.

The Mushrooms Project are well known for their sleazy mid-tempo laid-back percussive style, a sound that immediately resonated with rising stars and newly signed label mates Earthboogie.

Specifically it was ‘Dubby Bolas’ from the Italian duo’s 2016 album ‘Rivea Corymbosa’ album that really excited Earthboogie and equally, the Mushrooms were fans of the afro disco sound the Londoners displayed on their debut track ‘Route Ten To Interzone’.

The mutual appreciation led to this remix project which complements their productions styles with great effect.

After running into My Friend Dario recently, Hell Yeah chief Marco fell in love with some of the music he was played and so this next release had to happen.


The pair used to make music, specifically breakbeats, totters back in the day so go a long way back, Dario has a sound infused with world music and rebased the Sverna EP on this label before now. The ‘Sunset Outro’ track from this latest one has already been given big support by A Love From Outer Space so is set to be a big one.

The excellent ‘Sunset Outro’ takes a slightly darker turn, with heavy kicks and melancholic chords building an atmosphere. The chugging drums eventually get overlaid with a searching lead synth and vocal sounds that is perfect for getting the crowd into a groove.

Leng Records is kicking off its 2019 release program by offering a debut to a previously unheralded producer from Russia’s fast growing nu-disco underground. Given the quality of the two original tracks on show on his first Leng outing, something tells us that we’re going to be hearing much more from Moscow-based Takovoi in the months and years ahead.

On the A-side you’ll find “5-2-9”, an effortlessly dreamy and Balearic affair that ebbs, flows and slowly unfurls over six spellbinding minutes. The track is built around a chunky, acid style bassline and loose, delay-laden drum machine beats. Yet it’s the drifting and dubbed-out musical elements that cluster around the groove – leisurely keys, yearning trumpet solos and kaleidoscopic, arpeggio style synthesizer melodies – that make “5-2-9” such a magical piece of music. Think of it as a statement of intent.

Takovoi’s love of TB-303 style acid lines and mind-altering electronics comes to the fore on “The Fox With The Dog” which sees the up-and-coming producer give his take on the timeless electro sound. It’s as spacey and atmospheric as you’d expect, with exotic electronic refrains and glacial synthesizer lines dancing across the sound-space. The groove – a combination of punchy drum machine hits, heavy acid-style sub-bass, occasional bursts of hand percussion and breakbeats – is pleasingly heavy, too, making this particular electro excursion a bona fide dancefloor delight.
