Rheinzand are back with yet another sumptuous remix of their track 'Facciamo L'Amore'. This time we have brought back in dutch maestro Pete Blaker on rework duties, and oh boy he has really delivered with this epic dubbed out remix. A beautiful transcendental and euphoric journey to another dimension.

Pete Blaker caught the attention of Rheinzand with his superb edits of classic tracks that have become a main staple in the sets of DJ Harvey over the past few years. So it was a no brainer to include Pete when commissioning remixes for their Remix Album released in 2021 where he re-worked 'Strange World'.

After releasing the critically acclaimed album Atlantis Atlantis last year the band and Music For Dreams embarked upon some selective remixes for this Album. The Scorpio Twins remix of 'Facciamo L'Amore' featured highly on 2022 Year End charts after smashing it on dance-floors & festivals over the summer.

We also have some very exciting collaborations to follow this year (on vinyl too) which we are super excited to share. This is a taste of things to come. Enjoy!

Voice Of Art - Losing My Leaves (ft. Claus Højensgård) - s0599

The Vanbergen-Caluwaerts home was a hive of creative activity throughout the end of 2022, with the studio constantly buzzing with new music. Despite a relatively quieter year for releases in 2022, due to Reinhard and Charlotte's tour commitments with Rheinzand and Hercules & Love Affair, they returned home full of inspiration and energy. The result is an impressive six new albums, all set to be released in 2023 through their trusted Danish label, Music For Dreams. Each album will feature a carefully chosen single followed by the full album.

One of the standout tracks from Reinhard Vanbergen's upcoming album is "Together," the lead single for his second 2023 release. This is the follow-up album to 2021's "Reinhard & Reinhard". This first record was a collaboration between Vanbergen and the other Reinhard, Reinhard Roelandts. Vanbergen provided acoustic layers over electronic modular synths that Roelandts built himself. The goal was to emphasize the atmosphere that Roelandts had already created. For this follow-up album, a very different approach was taken, with the focus shifting to finding the hidden essence of the song. Charlotte Caluwaerts took on a crucial role in this album, using her vocal prowess and lyrical skills to help bring out the songs. The result is a powerful collaboration aptly titled "Reinhard & Reinhard & Charlotte," featuring the drumming talents of Gert Malfliet (known for his work with Tristan, Tsar B, and Tessa Dixson).

With complete creative freedom for the lyrics, Caluwaerts drew on recent life experiences to craft emotive and nostalgic verses that explore the theme of goodbyes. The lead single "Together" is a poignant reminder that even in the face of big goodbyes, the connections we make with others remain unbreakable. The album artwork for both the single and album features stunning paintings by Nicolas Boussemaere, whose realistic style perfectly complements the dreamy and wistful mood of the music.

Our first compilation, Beauty, offered listeners the chance to take a trip through the record collection of noted Parisian crate-digger and DJ Jeremy Underground. It was well received so we've decided to repeat the exercise. This time, though, we’ve turned to a lesser-known hunter of rare and obscure records, namely Crown Ruler Records co-founder Jeremy Spellacey.

Don’t be fooled by Spellacey’s lower profile: amongst those who know, the Melbourne-based New Zealander is widely regarded as a seriously dusty-fingered digger, capable of unearthing and championing ridiculously good records from all four corners of the globe. He sells some of these exceptional finds through his Crown Ruler online store, though there are many more that he keeps hidden from the public.

Spellacey has previously shied away from sharing the secrets of his extensive record collection. Crown Ruler Sound, then, is a rare treat: a gloriously colourful, sun-baked compilation of tropical treats from Africa, the Caribbean and beyond, hand-picked by the man who helped license this year’s most essential reissue, the South African boogie brilliance that is Focus’s Zulu.

From synth-laden Zambian reggae and sumptuous orchestral Afro-soul, to humid Trinidadian boogie and horizontal Italian jazz-funk, Spellacey offers a whirlwind trip through the most kaleidoscopic and exotic parts of his epic collection.

As you’d expect from a man who has traveled the world hunting down records, the majority of the 15 tracks will be unknown to all but a handful of similarly minded crate diggers. In fact, some are so obscure that you’ll struggle to find any mention of them at all online.

This could be your only chance to own some of these records and we don’t want to spoil the surprise but suffice to say, Crown Ruler Sound will surprise and entertain you in equal measure.

Between 2006 and 2008 i (Tonic) made a few edits on a label called 'Mindless Boogie' under a few different names (Tonic, Skinny Joey, Rubber Room). The label was vinyl only, so the tracks are pretty hard to find by now. It's a shame to let them go to waste, so here they are... Go and multiply!

Be With Records and Emotional Rescue team up to present a special release of US jazz vocal group Rare Silk and their cult song, Storm. 

A diggers cut for many years, more recently it's become an algorithm "hit". Presented here as a stand-alone limited 10" release, the song is backed by a spellbinding echo-drenched remix by New York's exemplary electronic sonic explorer, Arp. 

Originally formed when sisters MaryLynn and Gaile Gillaspie met Marquerite Juenemann in southern California in the late '70s, with the arrival of Todd Buffa the trio quickly expanded to a four-part harmony vocal group. Signed to Polydor, they rose to prominence over the ensuing decade with the release of three albums that gained them multiple Grammy nominations. 

Taken from their 1985 album American Eyes, Storm is based on a Stanley Turrentine song of the same name, from his 1971 album Salt Song. With additional vocals written by MaryLynn, as with much of their music -underpinned as it is by an otherworldly exotica - the artisanal, crafted care of the instrumental and vocal arrangements, featuring lush, rich phrasing, is evident in their exquisite reading of the song. 

When deciding how best of present the song it seemed right to ask a favourite of both labels. Having appeared on Emotional Response in 2017/18, Alexis Georgopoulos returned to his Arp project with last years' much-heralded Zebra album on Mexican Summer. Stripping out the vocals, the remaining instrumental is rearranged, rebuilt and then soaked in heavy tape echo. The result is a discerning dub to act as the perfect accompaniment.
