AEON and label boss Alex Niggemann are thrilled to welcome Denis Horvat back to AEON for another smashing EP, this time with the superb three-tracker ‘Minor’.

Previously releasing on Noir Music, Upon You, Get Physical and Souvenir, not to mention his stellar release on AEON last year, the Danish producer is getting his just desserts after years of meticulously curating and creating stellar music.

Here we have a hat trick of all encompassing cuts, and although bursting with the oomph you need for a heads down, hands up main room stomp, these tracks offer you more than just a 4’4 beat and a soundtrack to your rave, thanks to the skill and careful attention Horvat has put into each one.

Captivating from the off, Minor is a melancholic yet rapid composition of layered synth chords and percussion. As your heart starts to race, the energy continues to build with the track ‘DIY’, complete with driving bassline, reverb and effective distortion.

Rounding off on a high, ‘Cedevita’ brings the pulse back up again with another meticulously programmed latticework of drums, bass, and unadulterated dance floor decadence, with that added ambience of intrigue that goes hand in hand with Horvat’s productions.

Through this solid EP, the producer continues to create dense, barnstorming techno beats complete with that extra signature darkness.

You can listen to my Burning Man 2017 Sunrise Set at The Kazbah now on my Soundcloud... Playing a post man-burn Sunday morning Sunrise set at #Kazbah has become my favorite yearly tradition and Ali Love jumps on the mic towards the end of the set... As a DJ the surroundings for this party are unreal... I love the gradual change from a bumping night time neon laser jam in mars till colors start to paint the sky in the morning.  The atmosphere felt like a rebel outlaw replicant camp on mars celebrating a blood red sunrise as it rose directly in front of an epic pyramid for the ultimate degenerate music listeners.  Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Burning Man 2017 - Kazbah Sunrise Set

It's been a few years since last I spoke with LA-by-way-of-Barcelona artist @TACHES, born Alex Christopherson. I recall the weekend fondly: Desert Hearts in the soul center of Los Coyotes Indian Reservation. We chatted about everything from life and music to his own project and what the weekend meant to him. At that point, Alex had been making music for a few years in the realm of house and introspective dance, but he had found himself at a standstill when it came to inspiration and the true calling of his musical endeavors. By the end of the weekend, he imparted to me a level of excitement I don't often see in realtime. It was the pure elation of a lightbulb finally striking above one's head. It was creativity reemerging and a newfound sense of purpose. This moment was the start of the TÂCHES we're presenting to you today.

Without saying too much in honor of the mystery his project has enjoyed for the past few years, we'll let Alex explain his project, where he came from, where he's going, and how he's getting there. All we'll say is that this is the kind of mix you'll want to put on for a lovely evening in, as the soundtrack to an introspective psychedelic journey, or any time you're desperately seeking a moment of enlightenment and calm. The second release on the Sinners label is another essential one. It comes from Abe and packs a real punch across two hugely dramatic techno tracks. 

Seven Seals is first and is a slow burner with precision percussion dangling over rumbling bass. A poignant synth progression builds the tension up top and after a suspenseful breakdown it drops into a marching groove that will have the floor locked.

On the flip, Sail is a busier and more turbulent track with alarm like synth sounds, glassy textured and rubber kicks that drive the thing along. It’s a robust groove filled with sombre moods and dark energy that really sucks you in over the course of its seven minute length. 

This is another standout EP that will add real drama to any DJ set.
