New EP 'In Dreams' Out Now

Howie Payne is a singer, songwriter, guitar player and producer from Liverpool England who came to widespread recognition with the successes of his legendary Liverpool group cum solo project The Stands, with whom he released four top 40 singles across two albums (2004’s debut ‘All Years Leaving’ and 2005's ‘Horse Fabulous’). 

Shelving The Stands name in 2005 Payne has released two 'official' albums under his own name beginning with 2009's Ethan Johns produced 'Bright Light Ballads', and follow up 'Mountain'.

The Phantom Project is a group of young men who combine soaring leads backed by a lush soundscape, progressive bass, anthemic vocals and high energy drum grooves to form bigger than the sum of its parts.

The band has come together from the remains of a touring band that over the past years have performed and sold out venues throughout Scotland such as Sneaky Pete’s, Broadcast and have headlined King Tut’s as well as some festival appearances at Isle of Wight and TRNSMT.

Now having perfected their sound and ready to come back with plenty of hunger, the band’s latest incarnation consists of Singer and Guitarist Colin Simpson, Drummer Jamie Robertson, Lead Guitarist Alfonso Sanchez-Cruz and Bassist Lee Tallintire.

Throughout 2020 the boys will be releasing one new single in October with a string of gigs in between across Scotland & England starting off with The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh on 28th March. There will be a single released early March 2021, which will lead into the release of a summer EP in 2021.

After great success from their self/crowd funded debut album When Does It Become Real? The Rah’s have been working towards album number 2, set to be released early 2024, followed by a mass tour of the UK taking their new unique sound up and down the country.

Having already supported some huge artists, at the iconic Barrowlands and O2 Academy Leeds, playing Isle of Wight and YNot Festival, and selling out back to back headline UK tours, The Rah’s are gaining a big profile fast.

We are the shiny disco ball hat wearing, ultimate genre hopping, twisted festival, live stage machine that puts the emphasis on music, entertaining and laughter. We are a party at its most outrageous and ridiculous. 

Imagine Primal Scream and Happy Mondays had children genetically fused with the DNA of Frank Zappa, Bob Marley and Neil Diamond. 

Our live shows have included crowdsailing in rubber dinghies, crowdsurfing on inflatable alligators, laughter yoga, hug-offs, dance-offs in a giant hay bird nest, singalongs about dancing in gay discos and being heartbroken by ginger people, line dancing and high 5ing to the beats.

The Dijonverse has exponentially expanded since we kicked off 2014 with a sell-out show in legendary Glasgow venue King Tuts Wah Wah Hut (where Oasis were "discovered"), the release of our debut album Party To Make Music To Party To Make Music To Party To Make Music To Party To 1, a summer packed with festival appearances and our first headlining show at the world famous Barrowland Ballrooms with a rockumentary documenting that day's now legendary Mustardonics.

2015 was been even better for us. We played 32 gigs (including 14 festivals) with one of the highlights being Liverpool Sound City alongside The Flaming Lips and Sean Lennon's band (with a Liverpool Echo rave review). DJ Marc Riley (BBC 6Music) described us as, "the highlight of Liverpool Sound City" and a pair of my "retired" yellow jeans even made it into Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie's 'Rock Trouser Museum' on their BBC 6Music RadMac show.

We released our single 'These Are Not The Drugs (You Are Looking For)' with a 'Tale of Two Cities' double launch party in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The video for it was shot at the Sighthill Stone Circle in Glasgow, Eden Festival, Kelburn Garden Party and stars Scottish acting legend Gavin Mitchell (who played Boaby the barman in hit BBC sitcom Still Game).

In November we were the headline act on the international Stop Climate Chaos day of action playing in front of thousands on the famous Ross Bandstand in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle.

And in December we supported Scouse Britpop legends, Space, in the Classic Grand, Glasgow and played in front of a sold-out crowd at our Yellow Movement Xmas Party in the east-end of Glasgow venue Saint Luke's. 

This year on the 15th February we released our new video for 'International Sex Hero' starring Gavin Mitchell (again) and our good friends from the Insane Championship Wrestling on a date that will forever more be known as 'International Sex Hero Day'. 

Saturday 5th March 2016 was a defining moment in our career as we played Yellowland; our second headlining gig at the Barrowland Ballroom. A capacity crowd of nearly 2,000 were there for what many have already described as the greatest gig they've ever witnessed. The reviews have been some of the best we've ever had.

The Dijon Family will be playing Scotland, Ireland and England on our 'Peace, Love & Mustard Tour 2016'.

We are the flagbearers of The Yellow Movement. A creative movement with a DIY ethos aiming to affect positive change, bring people together and make them happy. This is our manifesto:
