Papa Nugs joins the Space Dust cohort with the 5 tracker “ It Came From The West” transcending various styles and shades of sound. With a more tripped out take on a traditional jacking pallette, the title track kicks off proceedings with a propulsive drumbeat and rumbling bassline providing the perfect bedrock for the acidic squelches above. “Brooklyn Duck” continues the US-indebted styles adding an earworm vocal to the mix.

On the flip a barrage of drums and glassy oscillations form “Be Anew” with the relentless programming carrying through “Knobbly Knees” taking us firmly into electro territory with robotic vocals and a mechanic drum pattern that shows no sign of waning . Closer “Groove Nxt” sees out the EP in energetic fashion with well tuned snares trading blows with crystalline synth work

Chrissy returns to Dansu Discs by way of ’The Other Side’ EP, complete with remix from Manchester based imprint regular Yosh.

The EP opens with it’s title track ’The Other Side’. A heavy dose of nostalgia characterises the record with elements of early hardcore, piano house & breakbeat littered throughout the four and half minute euphoric, peak time trip. Next up from the San Francisco based producer is ’The Only One’. Again Chrissy employs samples and elements of foundational strands of dance music, this time with a more heads down, acid tinged vibe.

Yosh closes out the three tracker by adding a distinctly UK flavour to ’The Other Side’. Watch ya bass bins!

This EP from German duo @not-even-noticed is a music production lover’s dream. Honestly, the sound design and production levels are just beyond belief in my opinion. Needless to say, they have been on heavy rotation since I first received the demos and they aren’t anywhere close to getting old yet.

They somehow straddle the line between beautiful soundscapes and absolute face melting, eyes rolling back, grabbing the person next to yours’s shoulders heat. Does that even make sense? Well I think you get what I mean.

The EP is out next Friday the 21st.

‘Homer’s Toes’ on the A-side is a dark, acid-fuelled driver with relentless, pumping drums and psychedelic synths. The B-side, ‘One Of Those’, offers an equally danceable breakbeat track, with frenetic drums, rock-solid bass and an atmospheric scattering of effects and percussive synths.

Size 13 is back with their second label release, a 4 track of dub infused electro from Just Blakey. Channeling influence from Detroit to Jupiter, this young producer has carefully crafted and sculpted his sound to communicate through other-worldy frequencies. The result is a crisp, spacey EP that will no doubt ripple through club systems.

Building suspense through robotic voices, squelchy synths and punchy drum beats the EP shows off the maturity of Just Blakey's sound. Expect to hear more from this producer in the future!

For the fourth instalment of 199’s Exchange series, the London label invites two newcomers to serve up some of the cleanest party fodder it's released so far. 

Belgrade’s Leshutler, known for his ghetto-electro slammers on the likes of International Chrome and Childsplay, and long-time friend of the label, takes care of track 1 with cool assurance. And for the second track, Jovak makes his label debut with a razor-sharp broken beat number, zipping with synth stabs and warbling with deep bass.
