Poetry, Sound Art and the Human Human

'I use this space to offer an experience of Sonopoetry, the voice of verses blended with field recording and sound in multiple forms (music collaborations included).
Writing and composition marked the passage from pre-history to history for human beings. I firmly believe that writing&listening (active care/empathy and full attention to each and every sound from each and every living and non living being) could inform, guide and represent the Posthuman era that I'll call Human Human era -from sapiens sapiens to human human.
The contemporary alliance between the disciplines of Art, Science and Philosophy elicits the conceptualisation of the Posthuman that to me also implies the transition from the Anthropocene to the Age of Art as a driver of thought and vision. I advocate the responsibility to assign a 'more than human' meaning to the Posthuman concept, that's why Human Human, in order to emphasise the human core, the genetic connection to bio and non-bio diversity as per the Biophilia Hypothesis.

Born 6 January 1972, Ilaria Boffa is an Italian poet and sound artist. 
She has published three poetry collections and she is one of the eight authors included in the North East American Association publication ‘Writing in a Different Language’ Vol XL 2018.
Over the last years, she has been experimenting with field recording, blending her spoken word with sound.

I'm deeply interested in minimal/contemporary improvising, playing piano and sax, computer music. Combining acoustic and electronic approaches. Working with poetry, theatre, soundtracks.

GROOVITY - (contemporary multi influenced jazz) - is a group of 4 musicians from different backgrounds who bring each person's influences into their music, creating their own language. Starting from the organic, 2 sax, bass and drums, a "pianoless" approach therefore, which sounds dry, funk, jazz, powerful and fresh. The composition and structure of the pieces on which to create a fabric for improvisation so that it becomes part of the writing is privileged. The addition of small vocal interventions and electronics closer to sampling gives the sound an alienating and ironic effect. 
NEWTONe is the result of four months of work and was recorded live by Giacomo Carlone's Supermoon studio who took care of the production of the mix and mastering. The editing work was minimal and reflects a lot the live sound of the group. 

GROOVITY – (contemporary multi influenced jazz) - è un gruppo di 4 musicisti di diversa estrazione che fa confluire nella propria musica le influenze di ciascuno, creando un linguaggio proprio. A partire dall’organico, 2 sax, basso e batteria, un approccio „pianoless“ quindi, che suona asciutto, funk, jazz, potente e fresco. E’ privilegiata la composizione e la struttura dei pezzi su cui creare un tessuto per l’ improvvisazione in modo che divenga parte della scrittura . L’aggiunta di piccoli interventi vocali e di un’elettronica più vicina al sampling dà al sound un effetto straniante e ironico. 
NEWTONe è il frutto di quattro mesi di lavoro ed è stato registrato in presa diretta allo studio Supermoon di Giacomo Carlone che ne ha curato la produzione il mix e il mastering. Il lavoro di editing è stato minimo e rispecchia molto il sound live del gruppo.
