"Let the Good Times Roll"

Let the Good Times Roll est une chanson de jump blues enregistrée en 1946 par Louis Jordan and his Timpany Five. Blues à 12 mesures interprétée mid-tempo, la chanson est devenue un standard de blues, c'est l'une des chansons les plus connues de Louis Jordan.
La chanson est écrite par Sam Theard, chanteur et auteur-compositeur de blues né à la Nouvelle-Orléans, et co-créditée à Fleecie Moore, la femme de Jordan, qui n'a pourtant jamais écrit une chanson de sa vie (mais son nom est parfois substitué à celui de son mari afin de contourner un embarrassant contrat d'édition),  cette stratégie se retournera contre Louis quand Fleecie et lui divorceront et qu'elle gardera les droits d'auteurs des chansons qui lui avait été attribuées). En 1947, Jordan and his Timpany Five interprètent la chanson dans le film Reet, Petite, and Gone, bien que ce soit un enregistrement studio plutôt que d'une performance live qui est utilisée dans la bande originale.

The song was created in collaboration on 4 October 2023 (initial composition, recording, arrangement and mix in MAGIX by Tom), 10 October 2023 (additional instruments, melodies and sound effects, recording and arrangement in GarageBand and Logic Pro, with an intermediate mix in Logic Pro by Alex M), and 11 October 2023 (final additions, arrangements and mix in MAGIX by Tom), and posted here on SoundCloud on 13 October 2023 (by Alex M). We are grateful for the use of vocal samples from the package "Magix Trance - The Vocal Trance" purchased and integrated into the music by Tom.

The artwork cover for the track is based on a photo by Tom of 11 September 2013 that was cropped and annotated in Mac OS Preview by Alex M and Tom in coordination on 8 October 2023.
