When some faraway species reads stories to their youth about the history of mankind, the section on "Greatest Minds In Electronic Music History" will surely have a hefty chapter on Simon Green, better known to the world as Bonobo. For over a decade, Green has been capturing our membranes with his brilliantly architected brand of downtempo organic rhythms, swaying in the winds between beat-centric trip-hop, lush heavy basslines, and beautifully structured layers of live instrumentation.

Over the years we have had the pleasure to develop a friendship with Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation. 

As huge fans of the group, a collaboration to have them play at Robot Heart at Burning Man was always a dream, if an impossible one.

This year at Burning Man, just in time for the inaugural Heart & Soul sessions from Robot Heart and Thievery Corporation's 20th anniversary, we finally had the honor of hosting Thievery Corporation on the Playa.  Three years in the making, the product of serendipity, determination and a lot of team work, here is that amazing, unannounced sunset performance at the Robot Heart camp before an audience of thousands of burners. Thank you Dave Geller, Elliot Dunwoody, Pascal Pharmacon and the 18-person team from Thievery Corporation for helping make our collective dream come true!

Thievery Giving by Thievery Corporation and Robot Heart - Burning Man 2014

Back in 2010, Gilles Peterson recorded a special Brownswood Basement show focusing on the evolution of drum & bass through the 90s and into the 00s. It was by no means a comprehensive history of the genre, but it did represent an excellent snapshot of the tunes that struck a chord with Gilles back then. 100% vinyl (and acetates), Gilles spent the best part of a day rummaging through hundreds of records and picked out around 40 then @alex-patchwork got deep in the mix. Part 1 dropped last week, and here is Part 2 that made up that show - no links, jingles or drops - just the music. We hope you enjoy it.

And we've finally reached the end of 2016! Ultimately it has proven to be a rather forgettable year overall, and it appears this is a universally shared sentiment. Yet again, Albert Ayler's theory that music is the healing force of the universe has been put to the test, and luckily, it's proven to be as accurate as ever! 

Breaking from tradition and my usual countdown of the top albums, tracks and EPs, I thought I'd mash them all together in one 90 minute mix, which I think you'll agree, makes for a much better listening experience.

Il est déjà membre de La Fine Équipe, de Juxebox Champions et Les Fines Bouches. Et pourtant le producteur français Blanka trouve le temps de travailler en solo. En juillet sortait ainsi « Hypnotic », un album de 8 tracks très ouvert, en témoignent les nombreux featuring en présence (Astrid Engberg, et les copains Oogo et Mr.Gib, Onra, Awir Leon). Évidemment, tout cela sort sur le label maison Nowadays Records ;-)
