About Evolove:
Evolove is an amalgamation of the words 'evolve' and 'love.' The evolving musical structures in house, afrobeat, and jazz inspired Rotterdam talent Beau Zwart in the process of sculpting this EP. The idea of combining these different genres started out after a night of dancing on the couch with his girlfriend. After hours of dancing and flipping through different moods and genres, the concept of this EP was born. Born out of love (for dancing).  

Long-time label homie K15 delivers a deep take on For MXM in true London Brokenbeat fashion. Mysterious newcomer Lu-Lu brings an uplifting, summer-ready interpretation of the title track Evolove to complete Beau Zwart's second release on INI Movement. 

About Beau Zwart:
Rotterdam-based producer Beau Zwart had an early introduction to music, studying classical piano throughout his childhood. Amazed and inspired by the works of classical composers from older generations like Bernardt Herrmann & Ennio Morricone, he started to write his own compositions. In his teenage years, he discovered jazz and electronic music and implemented these worlds in his compositions, performances and DJ-sets.

Today, Beau is a producer, performer, DJ and sought-after film composer. He graduated in Music and Technology at the University of the Arts Utrecht, released several EP's on record labels like INI Movement, Fluid Funk, Midnight Riot Records, Boogie Cafe and his own imprint Narrative Identity. He performed at festivals like Noorderslag, Grasnapolsky and North Sea Jazz Round Town. Armed with an extensive collection of analog synths and drum computers, Beau strives to make complex music accessible and crosses borders between genres.

Mauv shares new single Manual on London/L.A. based label all my thoughts. Despite the infancy of the project, the London via the midlands artist has made waves of late, with recent single Change Will Come Anyway - a duet with Pixx - generating a buzz which saw the song on heavy rotation at BBC 6Music and eventually added to their playlist. 

New single Manual is an intense and explorative experience, showcasing Mauv's talents both as a lyricist and producer. Known in the South London scene - while still very much a newcomer - Mauv is something of an outlier, as his previous singles, including the hugely catchy Pillow Talk demonstrate. 

On the release Mauv says "I’d been in London for a year when I began this, and through the sudden intensity of city life I had a lot of pent up emotions and experiences that I wanted to put into this music"

Expect to hear more music from Mauv very soon. 
He will also perform at The Old Blue Last in London on November 18th.

Uta Bella - C'est bon La Musique

This is another taste of sounds from his forthcoming sophomore album ‘All Werk Is Play’, following on from singles, ‘Eterno Retorno’, ’In Saint-Gilles’, ‘Move Different’ and ‘Battered Mars Bar’, which respectively received spins from BBC 6Music’s Jamz Supernova, Tom Ravenscroft, Huey Morgan and Afrodeutsche, as well as love from selectors such as DJ Paulette, Scratcha DVA, Zakia Sewell (NTS) & Jyoty (Rinse).

In 2020, Werkha released ‘The Rigour’ on First Word, and dropped ‘Beat Tapestry ’ in late 2021 on a limited cassette. All Werk Is Play’ marks Werkha’s first full-length solo project since his debut album ‘Colours Of A Red Brick Raft’ on Tru Thoughts in 2015.

‘Beauty & The Bloc’ is another uptempo composition from Werkha(real name Tom Leah), fusing analogue jazz-funk vibes with modern dance music sensibilities. Horns from Aaron Wood lead the way on top of a 5/4 rhythm track, with Werkha’s signature squelchy saw synths, subtly turning the smooth to rough for another triumphant heads-down groove, which has been doing the business live on dancefloors from Low Four in Manchester to The Jazz Cafe in London.

Werkha hails from Manchester and has been releasing music for a decade, collaborating and remixing artists such as Quantic, Bryony Jarman-Pinto, Marcos Valles and Andrew Ashong, and touring with Bonobo, Chet Faker and Mr Scruff.

Exclusive Premiere: Werkha "Beauty and the Bloc"

Today's exclusive is an absolute rush of rhythm, melody, groove and improvisation from London-based trio Caytra. 

Caytra's new single, "The OG" balanced technical prowess with body-moving grooves through it’s special blend of jazz, R’n’B, rock and soul.

Initially born out a basement jam, "The OG" features drums from James Gullis, bass from Conor Cotteril and guitar from Sam Ithell. 

The track was recorded remotely from a variety of settings. The drums were recorded in a garage, the guitar recorded remotely from a bedroom with one sm57 and the bass from a pirate studios production room. 

This will be the first release from Caytra's upcoming debut, self titled, self produced instrumental E.P, set to be released later this year.

First play and an exclusive video premiere on this infectious house number from Spanish producer, Skygaze, nom de plume of architect-by-day, Jamie Tellado, from his forthcoming 'Astral Trip' EP on Flumo Recordings.

Architect by day and musician by night, Jaime Tellado picks up his Skygaze alias again and returns to the  Flumo Recordings fold with a brand new 12", the ‘Astral Trip’ EP; combining his knowledge of architecture with a love of sound to construct and merge acid house, broken beat and atmospheric melodicism.

The 'Astral Trip' EP follows releases on Guayaba records, Riverette and Thirty Three Circular. And remixes for Ed is Dead and Contours & Yadava, earning support/plaudits from the likes of Mr. Scruff, Simbad, K15, Andrew Jervis, Gilles Peterson, amongst others.

The common denominator throughout the release is the balance and combination of various elements, exploring a multifaceted contemporary dance sound whilst paying homage to the foundations of the sounds that we listen to today. EP opener "Minor Mood" pays tribute to Chicago and Detroit with its high paced house rhythm, acid synths, and piano lines.

Exclusive Premiere: Skygaze "Minor Mood" (Flumo Recordings)

Ahead of its release at the end of the week on the mighty First Word Records, MIMS is excited to share "Guili", an undeniably  bodymoving disco funk bomb by Paris/Caen based duo DJ Soulist & Fulgeance. 

French slang for "tickle", 'GUILI' is an epic disco-funk piece inspired by the likes of Azymuth, Herbie Hancock and Marcos Valle, but incorporated with Souleance's trademark sounds of fuzzy bass-heavy electronica, synths and samples, giving the track a fresh contemporary twist.

The forthcoming EP features another cracking song, "Torro" and a remix of "Guili" by Art of Tones. Look out for a limited vinyl 45 too!
