Veronique Sanson is one of the most famous french pop oriented female singer, songwriter, and composer of the 80s. She began her career in the 70’s, and was the girlfriend of genius composer Michel Berger. Her world was turnt upside down when she met Stephen Stills of Crossby Stills & Nash. One day during a recording session in Paris, she left the studio pretending to go buy cigarets, but never came back... She flew overnight to the USA, where she married Stephen Stills. In LA, she records new music with superstar composers such as Ray Parker JR & Harvey Mason. "Bernard's Song", produced in 1977
, was the first single of the double gold album « Hollywood ». 

In this reworked version, Pulse selected and edited the best parts of the song, removing Sanson's verses in order to keep only the heavy grooves. New drums have been added to the mix, which bring a fatter sound to the whole thing.
Pulse added wild funk synths, involving keyboard extraordinaire Corentin Pujol of parisian funk band Echoes Of. He recorded killer solos through the tune, "Dukey Stick" style !
Of course, the rework comes fully DJ friendly with intro and outro.
All of these intentions make this version truly unique, and still respectful of the original vibe... the Young Pulse guarantee.
A must have in your collection of heavy low tempo 'french' disco.

I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve here and it shows. There's a huge amount of love in the mix, and you can feel it.
Technically the mixing is not on point but that's not what this mix is about. 
I hope you feel the love as I did at the time... As I do now.

TVB (Tomek Leśniewski) - a producer from Wrocław, fascinated by broadly defined urban music. For many years he has been associated with the local club scene (Clinique, Droga Do Mekki, Kamfora). In the years 2006-2013 he co-hosted the Broken Beats show on Radio Luz with Wuja (My Head is Dubby). Since 2010, he has been regularly organizing party cruises on Wroclaw ships - Boat Trip, and Holy Ship! On a daily basis, he is engaged in sound production for radio and television.In May 2019, he released his debut album "Mesa Shots". He has already been active in such labels as Urban Dubz Rec. (UK), Sequel One Records (PL), Dynasty Shit Rec. (USA), XLNT Rec. (PL), G-stepz Records (PL) and Polish Juke (PL) ). Martin Rude (Sun River) & Jakob Skøtt (Causa Sui drummer) team up for their 2nd album in 2020, following their acclaimed debut The Discipline of Assent. All basic tracks were cooked up from a new session on July 7th in Causa Sui’s Jonas Munk’s studio. This time around, the duo took it’s time to modulate a few ideas into several takes, but maintaining an “onwards and upwards” attitude, often relying on an original impulse or idea snagged out of the ether.

The result is a meeting of groovy electric jazz, open guitar tunings and buzzing electronics. As one reviewer remarked about their previous outing: “like one of those films where the protagonists fall through walls into completely different sets”, which is fueled by the fact that Martin alternates between double bass & guitars. The session was thoroughly produced by Jakob Skøtt, adding layers of percussion, electronics, samples, edits & effects. A duo rarely sounded this band-like before, yet the telekinetic raw vibes of the basic layers shines through. It’s a deeply layered sound, where opposites are erased:
Organic, yet synthesized.
Chaotic, yet organized.
Dissonant, yet melodic.
Jagged, yet groovy.
Experimental, yet enjoyable.

Martin Rude & Jakob Skøtt Duo: The Rest Of The Way

We are happy to share the exhilarating live cinematic jazz sounds of Poland’s brilliantly titled Immortal Onion, with a recording of “Triggers”, recorded at Warsaw’s famous Jassmine club, forthcoming on U Know Me Records. 

Immortal Onion are an instrumental band from Gdańsk, Poland. The group consists of Ziemowit Klimek (upright bass/bass guitar/moog), Tomir Śpiołek (keyboards) and Wojtek Warmijak (drums). Formed in 2016, Immortal Onion offer a bold combination of many seemingly remote styles - jazz, minimalism as well as fusion, electronic music and even progressive metal.

“Triggers (live at Jassmine)” will be released on the fourth 10-inch EP celebrating the 10th anniversary of U Know Me Records, featuring 5 songs from Immortal Onion. For those missing live concerts there are 2 songs taken from the band's 8th of August performance at Jassmine club, Warsaw. The B-side starts with a rework of the song called "Leaving", originally composed by Hania Rani (who often performs with 2 members of Immortal Onion). The next song (“Zu Hause”) was created especially for this album as the result of the band’s experiments with electronics. The EP closes with a rework of “Eye Tracking” - a song from ”XD [Experience Design] - made by Kadrych.

The rework of “Leaving” will be released only on vinyl and won’t be available on streaming services.

Strictly limited edition - 300 hand-numbered copies. The first hundred will be released on red vinyl and copies from 101 to 300 as classic black ones. Released on December 18, 2020.

The album was created with help of trusted people, who also worked on “XD [Experience Design]” (the first Immortal Onion's album recorded for U Know Me Records and released in March 2020) - graphic design by Martiszu, mix by Envee (except the last song mixed by Maciej Stendek) and mastering by Eprom.
