Hi my friends, I hope everybody is fine during this new situation. I’m very happy to share with you this brand new mix with a lovely guest, a real true passionate of music : Keeto, the owner of Vinyl and Coffee Records Shop from Annecy (France).

As usual I have chosen my last digged jazz tracks from Forgotten Treasures to Future Classics.

For more than 20 years ,the Frenchie Franck Foubert aka Keeto has always been looking for big tunes as a passionate and obsessional record digger. Through his label Les Disques Superfriends he founded in 2009 , he's released hard-to-find records and edits by contemporary producers such as Tom Noble - James Pants - Kira Neris For 5 years now ,he s started a whole new adventure with Vinyl and Coffee a great record shop that you need to check if you are around Annecy...

Valvin “V” Roane offers up a soulful taste of upcoming album ‘Image A Nation’ with lead single ‘Into The Light’ featuring Yameen Allworld.

‘Into The Light’ is a smooth, warm and life-affirming Neo-Soul gem, served with that special sauce that, it seems, only Philly artists can perfect. Yameen’s relaxed rhyme flow perfectly compliments V’s flawless vocal performance over a classic beat, an instrumental version of which is included in the package.

V’s long friendship and collaborative relationship with Yameen pre-dates his debut album, 2005’s ‘The Revelation Is Now Televised’, which was the first time the pair appeared together on record. Both subsequently contributed to Jill Scott’s 2011 album ‘The Light Of The Sun’, which incidentally also featured fellow BBE artist Larry Gold as composer and arranger. Alongside Jontae Slade and Andre Capers, Yameen was one of the main writers behind V’s new album ‘Image A Nation’, but it’s only on this cut that he makes an on-mic appearance.

V is widely known throughout the US soul and R&B community as a ‘go-to’ vocalist, having worked with Justin Timberlake, Musiq Soulchild and Will Smith to name but a few. Yameen Allworld is a mainstay of the Philadelphia music scene, previously working with Kindred The Family Soul and occasionally acting as hype-man for Questlove’s legendary DJ sets.

Album ‘Image A Nation’ is slated for release in early September 2020

Next up in the series is a Chicago Stepper-influenced remix of Jay-Z's "Can't Knock the Hustle." 

I've spent the Summer immersed in vinyl, getting the Miyagi Records project off the ground. And along the way I've discovered or have been put up on, a ton of music! This remix is based on The Stylistics quiet storm killer "Hurry Up This Way Again" which you'll recognize as sampled on Jay-Z's "Politics As Usual." I'd heard the Stylistics song waaay back in the day but didn't put 2 and 2 together. The homie Twelve Gage came through the shop awhile back and reintroduced me to this gem and I had it on repeat for days afterward. It didn't take long for the remix idea to come about. All I really wanted was to make a Stepper out of Jigga and continue my "Reasonable Saturday Night" series somehow. Comes with the instrumental which kinda works on it's own as a Stylistics flip. 

On a more personal note, this remix isn't just a clever mashup of song titles but it's more so what my 2020 mindset has become. Losing all DJ gigs, performance work, and my marketing company due to the pandemic made me reassess what I want from life and how I plan to get there. I have a tendency to move too fast, and this year has been a blessing in disguise. A much needed slow down, in order to get some bigger moves in play. I'm sure everyone has their thoughts about Jay-Z but there's no denying his success, and the scope and longevity of that success. I once heard for "Reasonable Doubt" he used his advance to purchase copies of the record so as to give SoundScan numbers a bump, thus securing a better deal on his next album. Whether that's myth or reality, it's a G move and the perfect example of investing and reinvesting in yourself.

Jay-Z - Can't Hurry the Hustle (TREW remix) Instrumental

Tibe D’Oro is the place of desire the Viennese Duo, Fabian Sialia and Leonard Cuscoleca, creates the sound for. In their music and composition process, they try to create a world as they feel it could or ought to be. The compositions draw from recordings from an artist mansion in North London that became a shrine for the local music scene. Singer-songwriter Amy Yon (vocals), and trumpeters Ludwig Ascher (Drahthaus) and Johnny Woodham (Alfa Mist), play with utmost freedom to a singular tempo and tune. A treasure trove of recordings allowing endless assembling emerged. The resulting three pieces, X+X=1, are closely interlinked through repeating and transforming elements.


Together with the work of the Vienesse Painter, Philip Mueller (Artwork, Vision of Tobe D’Oro), the compositions merge with the painter's image world depicting scenes from Tibe D’Oro.
