vol. 55 comes from Eastern Distributor, a fast-rising producer and DJ out of Warrang/Sydney with a penchant for creating and mixing energetic, proggy, trance-tinged techno, electro and broken beat. He's also one of the minds behind @shed_syd as well as resident at local techno party Renegade. Daniel's slew of self-releases and contributions to local labels like @innertheft and international labels likle @pokeyprods are all killer and his mixes are just as good, with the @bizarro-recs mix being one highlight. His melt mix treats us to an engaging selection of diverse electronica spanning a wide variety of genres, tempos and moods, from dubby slow jams to speedy prog. We love it!

melt mix vol. 55 - Eastern Distributor

We were over the moon to be joined by @anna-rose-wirth aka ANNX, founder of London’s epic WHOMP parties, for our last show on 1020 Radio. WHOMP is a non-profit event which has so far sponsored thirty four children from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain an education in Nepal via JMB Educational Fund. Here, we discussed the project before running through a wicked mini mix from Annx capturing the sound of WHOMP.

1020 Radio - Pollination w/ ANNX (WHOMP) - 27th April 2022

Low Flung ( @lowflung ) is the long-standing project of Sydney based visual artist Danny Wild. Danny has been present in the East coast underground scene for quite some time now, having cemented his place with an incredibly diverse musical outputs, from ambient and dub to tech house.

"Equally influenced by dub’s sense of space and the rolling expanse of the Australian landscape, Danny fuses field recordings and organic instruments with synthesized soundscapes and buoyant digi basslines to create music that offers an uncanny evocation of place and a keen spatial awareness." - Hani Hanbali

Here we are treated to a live, tech house tinged set from Danny's recent visit to Polyrhythm festival in the ACT.

Over recent years Feargal has launched a mix series, club night all while carving out his own name as a performing artist. The Fuaim series first served as an online space for many local and international DJs in limbo, waiting for venues to reopen. With features from DJs like Spray, Siofra, hewan aman, and eoin dj, the series gave a first look at what was to come with the Dublin based collective. Since then, Fuaim has launched sold out shows in venues across Dublin including Tengu and Bernard Shaw. More recently they have taken to DDR to share a monthly show with mix from founders and friends. 

Online Feargal's own contributions include features for Area 3000 Radio, Solace Space, always premiering a club ready sound fusing elements of trance, tech house, prog and techno.

With a regular show starting this month on Netil Radio and sharing lineups with the likes of Angel D'lite, Goddezz Temple, Marie Malarie and many more, HENDERSON is starting to make a name for themselves in the London queer-scene.

For their mix, they serve us a blend of hypnotic grooves, hard hitting breaks layered with emotional vocals and of course, lots and lots of euphoric trance.
