For our 5th vinyl release on Bouquet. Recs, Trent is towing the line between fresh and trippy, but undeniably dance floor heat on his first solo EP, and first release on our label. We are proud to share his momentous solo effort with aficionados everywhere. Recorded in Berlin between 2018 and 2020, “Transition 35” takes cues from multiple eras of dance to characterize the ever changing colors of nightlife. C’mon ride the train - final destination? The limits of your sensual abandon. Stops along the way? 90’s rave. Psychedelic space station. And that’s all in one hour of a long, orgiastic night.

Trent is a Berlin-based Italian DJ and producer who co-created the party series and label “Oscillator” with fellow Italians Dama and Budino. Alongside resident and cosmic pioneer Beppe Loda, they curated one of Berlin’s remarkable events for obscure italo, disco and electro.

Taking lessons from the past Trent weaves together a highly sophisticated yet playful sound for the contemporary club goer. Having spent many years as part of collectives, his solo aesthetic is thoughtfully considered and always surprising.

A longtime fixture of the infamous playground party Cocktail d’Amore, Trent collaborates with Juan Ramos under the shared byname Greenvision, releasing together on Cocktail d’Amore, ESP Institute and Ene Tokyo. “Transition 35” marks Trent’s first solo EP sojourn and a triumphant showcase of his individual voice, on Bouquet. Recs.

TRACK DESCRIPTIONS:

A1. Like a fast train barreling out the station to destinations unknown, This is a Trip hurtles forward like a 90s rave classic, with new wave and nu beat inflections that keep you hooked through unexpected transitions to its explosive finale.

A2. Gasping lysergically, the sci-fi sounds of Don’t Stop evoke ecstasy on the dancefloor. That internal scream as you summon more energy, eyes closed, enjoying the trip with a smile.

B1. Touch Me is a sexy spell of primal percussions and ominous warlock voices to make for a dark, hot situation

Michael Claus is the founder of SutroFM and has released numerous albums and EPs across several well-regarded labels in the U.S. techno underground. Based in London, Katie has been building and sharing her sound as a regular feature in venues across the capital. As part of the Soba event series, Katie has hosted lineups in venues such as The Cause, Folklore and The Nines Peckham. These events look to harness intimate spaces and invite local talent to build a community atmosphere and loyal following. The success of Soba has launched Katie to stages across UK such as Lost Village. Over the last year, the shift in pace has allowed Katie to dive deeper into her collection and connect with online radio platforms such as Limbo, Netil, Balamii and Melbourne's Area 3000. 

These online stations and chatrooms have been the one stop shop for everything dance-floor, community and distanced connectivity. In this way, I am always so excited to feel that energy and connect with inspiring artists from near and far. So big thank you to Katie for joining the show and sharing this special mix celebrating female music productions with tracks from Logic1000, Jossy Mitsu, Manamii, Mary Lake, RegularFantasy and more!

"This mix is made up of tracks that have ripped me out of bed on a lazy day or gotten me through a brisk power walk home throughout 2020 & 2021.

'30,000 steps' is in commemoration of the most steps I have ever done in a 24 hour period. Hopefully someone else breaks a sweat listening to this as well.

I like to keep my DJ sets relatively high energy, particularly after the lock down slumber. I've found DJing to be a really great energy release for me and it's definitely something that has been getting me through the transition back to normality.

All Night In Heaven by Bushwacka! is for sure one of my favourites. I'm an absolute sucker for a euphoric breaksy track with an r&b vocal, gets me every time. One of the first records I ever bought was a (very) beat up Bushwacka! 12" so it's close to my heart."
