The original tracks are as catchy as they are groovy, incorporating influences from all around the world. Psychedelic party music, safari disco madness, fake ritual gurus, driven rubbery bass lines and weird tones. A solid pack with a high quality organic instrumentation to rock the dancefloor. Mid tempo electronic funk from outer space, all 100% playable.
On the remix side, Tel Aviv producer Uriah Klapter delivers a reinterpretation of ‘Invisible Pink’ perfect to be played on a beach at dawn; and Lassi International boss, the Argentinian SidiRum, does his magic on ‘The Lamp’.

For almost ten years, Producer and DJ James Weissinger (Zillas on Acid) has collaborated with Philadelphia-based video artist “Babystar'' (Carolina Leis-Usher) under the name GIRLS CHAT ROOM.

The new GIRLS CHAT ROOM album SLEEP MASK sees the duo log back into the chat with eight new songs exploring a range of important contemporary themes: the perennial perils of the gig economy (“Bubble Tea”), a lack of rest in an increasingly wired world (“Sleep Mask”), the laugh-track sitcom-ification of everyday life (“TV Turkey”), Gen Z and its piddling preoccupations (“Look at My Friends”), facial cleansing routines as spiritual salvation (“We Got Those Faces”), the post-industrial dance mantra imaginary (“Metal Chant”), vanilla-scented New Age skepticism gone awry (“Déjà Vu”), and wet blankets (“Wet Blanket”). Taken together, these songs tear the collective “sleep mask” from our faces, encouraging us to WAKE UP, look around, and then ok maybe go back to sleep amidst the burning parking lot fire of the early 21st century.

For those who have already taken the Girls Chat Room Revolutionary Pledge of Allegiance, SLEEP MASK is a powerful return to form and the logical next step in GCR’s aesthetic evolution. For those just starting to sip the Kool-Aid, the release might just be the beginning of a lifelong journey into the GCR lifestyle.

PREMIERE: Girls Chat Room - Look At My Friends [Byrd Out]

Founded in 2018 in Mexico, Bonkers is now based in the Old Continent, in Barcelona to be more precise. The prolific Latino imprint celebrates its fifth anniversary by bringing to life “Year V”, an eight-cut compilation featuring some of the most interesting names amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene: Hailing from various corners of this doomed little blue dot of ours, Nick Hanzo (SXDNS065) & Heidenreich (SXDNS142) Feat. Das Molekuel, JGR & Yahaira, Lebollet, Ledi Cannit, Kubebe, Ludviq & Mandruvá, Yotam Russo, and Anastasia Zems (SXDNS169) came up with some top-notch stuff for the celebratory VA. 

The cover art is called “Lost Garden” by Michael Rozen. His paintings focus on raising awareness to the impacts on the ecosystems provoked by the parasite species that rules the planet.

The track we were solicited to premiere brings Anastasia at her very best! “Shadow Theatre” offers the perfect balance between darkness and danceability delivered by a strength-meets-groovy formula and a pinch of acid, resulting in a sharp and vivid dance-floor-filler theme.

C.A.R also known as Chloé Raunet formerly of Battant follows up the release of her album, ‘My Friend’, with single Glock’d. 

We've got the great honour of premiering the The Asphodells aka Andrew Weatherall and Timothy J. Fairplays remix of the track. GLOCK’D is C.A.R’s trademark washed out sarcasm and bleached cynicism. The track forages paths through Chloe’s dark mind. It was one of the first songs she wrote on her own, and was recorded down in the bunker with Timothy J Fairplay himself. The remix from Andrew and Tim voyages through ethereal atmospheric electronics and edges into glam-stomp territory.

LOOM #13 — Procedural Fiction is an ambient sound installation and conceptual album derived from twelve abstract instructions. The work explores the paradox of creation — the tension between rule-bound systems and imaginative freedom.

The sonic and visual elements were co-created using generative AI platforms, treating the instructions as algorithmic procedure to produce a digital fiction. Each track is a sonic rendering of an imperative, utilizing minimalist electronic soundscapes, rhythmic ambiguity, and expansive drones to translate complex ideas into atmospheric form.

The music is a constructed void, designed to be unsettling yet contemplative, inviting the listener to find personal meaning within its austere, fabricated structure.

Amsterdam’s Sinchi Music returns with its 10th release, this time from German duo Le Jeune Flück and featuring remixes from Moscoman, Theus Mago and themselves.

Sinchi Music launched their label back in early 2019 off the back of their popular blog, events and DJ sets. The imprint’s mission has been to release quality left of centre electronic music, with all funds going to a non-profit foundation to support indigenous peoples’ right and preservation of culture. To date the label has seen music from
the likes of Sascha Funke, Khidja, Man Power, Curses, Tolouse, Low Trax and many more and has gained a solid following, whilst doing some genuine good for the world.

Frankfurt based pair Le Jeune Flück are the latest to join the ranks of Sinchi’s artists. The duo have been collaborating together since 2013 and have recent release on Dionysian Mysteries and clipp.art. Here they offer
up the superb ‘Unexpected Ends’, a rolling arpeggiated affair that comes on like the love child of Giorgio Moroder and Underworld. Incandescent synths and ethereal drifting melodies provide the perfect soundbed for the distinct half sung / half spoken vocals creating a track that is hard not to love.

The first of the remixes comes from Israeli producer, Disco Halal label boss and general don, Moscoman. His remix journeys into glitchier electro territory with a real sense of wonkiness and some seriously driving
percussion. Next up, Sinchi deliver their own mix that taps into the otherworldly with its cavernous FX, and off kilter electronic vibe. Finally Mexican artist and Duro co-founder Theus Mago takes things into a chuggier realm with a cosmic mid-tempo workout that is divine, a perfect closer to an outstanding package.
