Underground hero Bill Converse returns to Dark Entries with Take Parts, perhaps his most muscular and floorfocused work to date. Converse has honed his analog craft since the early days of the Midwest rave scene, absorbing lessons from luminaries like Claude Young and Traxx. His skill as a producer has been established with releases on labels such as Dark Entries, Fit Sound, and Obsolete Futures, and his prowess as a DJ has been witnessed on floors the world over. On Take Parts, Converse peels away the layers of acidic gauze that have characterized much of his work, revealing his sharp grasp of dancefloor dynamics and DJ functionality. While the 808’s, 909’s, and 303’s are on full display, Converse does not indulge in retro-fetishism; he channels the future forward impulse of the originary rave ethos. Tracks like “Stroke” and “What You Have” pit seasick chords and analog squelch atop funky but unsettling loops. The flurry of 808 snares on “Measurement (Of What?)” nods towards both footwork and jungle, but feels ultimately planted in a world of Converse’s own. With the acid-electro masterpiece “Take Apart”, Converse implores us to both join him in this new world and reconfigure the one we’re living in now. The 6-tracks on Take Parts present a new focus for Converse, and will excite DJ’s and thrill dancers.

Whipnotiq, a sorceress of unique sounds from emotive to oddball, often within the realms of electro music and beyond. Based in Long Beach, CA, Miranda Calzada is a classically trained musician who has been honing her DJ craft at LA undergrounds for over a decade. By curating Neptunian Influence, an electro-leaning mix and event series, she brings forth sounds which incite “bright companion clouds and dark vortices.” Neptunian Influence features both established and up-and-coming artists from around the world. Neptunian Influence hosts an annual party in conjunction with Movement in Detroit - not to be missed if you're going to the festival!

Con más de 20 años al servicio de la electrónica, @timothy-j-fairplay ha forjado un sonido que abarca todo tipo de géneros desde un enfoque melódico y analógico. 

Junto a @andrew-weatherall formaba parte del dúo Asphodells, donde se dio a conocer rápidamente con trabajos de corte más lento. Influenciado por el sonido de la costa oeste holandesa, Timothy ha publicado en sellos como @pinkmanrecords, @knekelhuis o hoga-nord-rekords.

Sus últimas producciones han evolucionado hacia un sonido más rápido, pero manteniendo la esencia y eclecticismo que tanto le caracterizan. Recientemente ha estrenado @dungeon-module, su nuevo sello donde publicará próximamente nuevas referencias junto a otros artistas.

El pasado mes de agosto pudimos disfrutar de su directo durante la noche de @italo_moderni en Lolita. Una hora cargada de electro, melodías y sintetizadores que ya puedes escuchar en el nuevo Live @ Human disponible en nuestro SoundCloud.

Gareth Psaltis AKA Barking is an Australian producer and DJ based in Berlin. He creates Electronic music that motions through disfigured techno, moody Electro and dub-influenced experimentations.
Gareth’s records have appeared on labels such as Brokntoys, Openthenext and Deep Seeded. He currently holds a residency on Bristol-based Noods Radio.
