The basilica shines markets full of life  
Fragrances and colors art that cuts like a knife  
Dreamed of golden beaches seas that soothe the soul  
Meeting new faces tasting stories untold

But dreams shattered under rubble and debris  
A harsh reality of pain and misery  
At the heart of hell where silence screams loud

Kids who never laugh prisoners of fear  
Playing in the dust with no path clear left unknown  
Lost in a world where no ways shown  

I wish I could take their hands lead them away  
Paint horizons where they could one day stay  
But here I stand helpless in this mess  
A broken land drowning in pain and distress

A fierce criminal


These four walls should be whitewashed  
Or painted with a tropical beach  
With the sun on your head that warms you and tans you  
So much you feel it even when you sleep  

In the book I keep two daggers closed and folded  
The slightly faded photo of a friend  
And like a processor I slowly shut down  
Now finished  
A newspaper clipping with my biography  
The headline is a fierce criminal  

I don’t want it to be seen  
And I don’t want it to be said  
That the accused monster is afraid  

Forgive me

I ask your forgiveness  
I ask everyone’s forgiveness  
God forgive me  
I also ask forgiveness of my soul  

I have always lived only under a stars and stripes roof  
And in America the penalty is capital  
On the wall there’s a phrase I beg your forgiveness  
I wrote it right underneath the crucifix  

The wardrobe is under the bed it’s a cardboard box  
I locked inside all my projects  
It’s a horizontally striped suit without a belt  
And without my shoes the uniform major a Tchaikovsky concerto  
A human gesture from the conductor  
I don’t even want to say goodbye to the relatives  
I just want to leave in peace  

If I had a screwdriver I’d stop the faucet  
That drip drip keeps me company  
I go in sync with the breath of my chest  
It’s the hourglass of my life

I'd just like to walk barefoot on the grass,
on a soft, green blanket.
Stretch out in the silence, in the lakeside beauty,
watching the cloudy sky.

Lose myself a little in the bright solitude,
breathe in the natural ozone.
Dream of pleasant things – clouds swirling,
the sun shining, rushing toward the sky.

Swim in the cool, clear water,
sit by the fire with a cup of coffee.
And, thinking of the eternal, forgetting all people –
compose lines on paper.
