Time for a new MWTG episode. Today we welcome very talented artist from eastern Poland - Rraph!

BIO: 
Born in eastern Poland, rraph treads the dark, deep soundscapes of techno.
Since his debut release in 2013 on Translucent, he has count many others on the likes of Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Counter Pulse, Subraum and of course his base, Gynoid Audio. Associated with the project since its launch, rraph contributes as an A&R and also immensely as an artist signing acclaimed work such as the Eseries EP which includes a Kwartz Remix or the Syndykat EP. He has also been quite prolific in providing remixes as well as tracks for various compilations. During the past years rraph has performed both live and as a DJ in renowned clubs around Europe such as Tresor, IPSE and Arena in Berlin, Corsica Studios in London, Le Batofar in Paris, Uebel & Gefährlich in Hamburg and more. Since 2015 rraph has been a member of Warsaw-based Behind the Stage collective and together with aetha is also a co-creator of VULTUR, an event series taking place in Poland.

We close August with a podcast from a young representative of the Wroclaw scene. The latest Retrospect episode belongs to Szermi!

BIO:
Szermi is the youngest representative of Wrocław's Tech-room 29 in terms of age and seniority, where he made his debut behind the decks in December 2020. Since then, he's spent countless hours behind the decks playing after-parties and playing at their events on several occasions, which led to him joining their line-up in May 2021. That same year, he also became a resident of Wrocław's Transformator in November. In June this year, he had the opportunity to play for the first time at the LAS Festival and was nominated for the 'Munoludy 2021' poll, in the 'Discovery of the Year' category, where he eventually took 6th place. Szermi's sets are primarily a combination of space and hypnosis overflowing tracks with energetic, dynamic, sometimes funky grooves. Frequent strong footwork, even more frequent tribal motifs - often interspersed with broken ones, resulting in often unpredictable compositions.

BIO: 
Shelley, self-taught DJ from Bielefeld, Germany, has been making a name for herself since 2019 when she decided that the years spent within the club culture could be translated into something fun. Her cultivating frequencies and understanding are reflected, with a vibe strongly rooted in nature, dressed in deep techno. Her sessions blend hypnotic & percussive sounds with dubby & organic atmospheres. Through this combination, she achieves to impact mind & soul in an unique way, channeling her love for the deeper electronics and turning it into beautiful sonic sceneries. Private Press is a Warsaw-based duo made up of Adam Brocki and Jan Wóycicki. For six years of publishing, the artists have been sharing their music with us, which is difficult to classify unequivocally. For we have had delicate breakbeat and monumental dub techno released on Indigo Aera. Then there are the timeless house-techno hybrids released by such stalwarts of the UK scene as Ben Sims and Radio Slave - on Hardgroove and Rekids respectively. Plus releases on Oblique Music and Of Paradise. Each presenting the musical face of this enigmatic duo in a different way.

Among the artists who use it in their sets, it is worth mentioning Ben Sims and DVS1.

BIO: 
DJ, beginner producer, member of the broadly developing @tech-room29 collective. An energetic dancer starting his DJ adventure with a bit faster British hard techno. Along with the increase in experience, he stylistically moved back a bit further, to the times of the beginnings of his interest in technical music, where he was inspired by the schematic, minimal and hypnotic sound at the Das Lokal club. The combination of these factors has led to a high level of interest in the recently soaring Portuguese wave that often mixes with a broken or industrial foot.

For our 58st Retrospect podcast, we welcome MANOID!

BIO:
DJ, producer, live performer, sound-designer. At the end of 2018, he released his debut album "Truth LP" at the German label hafendisko. The album was awarded by music critics in Europe (including the album of the month by FAZEmag magazine) and the music video for the song "Take Me" directed by VJ Emiko, won the first prize in the "Electronic Music" category of the PL Music Video Awards and shown at Berlin Music Video Awards. Performing his own live-acts, the artist has appeared many times at the largest Polish festivals, such as Tauron Nowa Muzyka or the Institute Festival, and abroad, from Iceland to South Korea. In 2019, he performed on the main stage of Audioriver with the premiere show of the utopian spectacle "Afterhuman Afterparty" co-created with the Hashimotowiksa duo, whose rebroadcast was awarded the "Munoludy 2019" statuette for the best online event in Poland. In 2021, we could hear its premiere material, incl. as part of the Bolier Room x Institute Festival in Modlin, and his DJ sets sounded almost in every corner of Poland. Musically, he connects different worlds, impressing them with his original, precise sound and sensitivity. With his music, he engages both the body and emotions of the listeners - taking them into ever new sound spaces - sometimes brutal, sometimes melancholic. MANOID is also the founder of the Sound Institute - a modern music production school awarded by muno.pl as the "Initiative of the Year 2021" and a member of the Holyklang collective, co-created with AGIM and Szymon Weiss.

BIO:
What comes to your mind about the nickname Furie? We can bet not the subtle face in the photo below. But don't let this sweet smile fool you - its dark side emerged in the darkness of the @tech-room29 basement already in the gloomy times of the pandemic. On the decks, from the very beginning of her mixing adventure, she presented genres with the prefix hard, combining them with harmonious melodies. Currently, her biggest inspiration is broken electro and carving, humming techno. Furie does not hide the fact that he enjoys the energy of stuffy dance floors, giving it twice as much in return. Until now, you could experience its element in clubs such as @klubcialo, @wyspatamka, @transformator-tfr, @schron66 and Projekt LAB.

BIO:
W_iro is a techno music producer from Poznań, Poland. He started his adventure with music from guitar instruments, playing in bands and jam sessions, but fate made the next step in his journey the world of analog-digital sound synthesis. Currently he is a co-creator of @psylocybinapl project which promotes psychedelic, deep and mystic shades of techno music and Rave Order, an initiative bringing together techno/rave culture in Poland. His hobbies include technological innovations in the process of creating music and the very philosophy of the creative process in the modern world. He supports the idea of live acts and hybrid sets. To his credit, he has performed in Poznań clubs, Wrocław's Ciało club and at Underworld and Masow festivals, among others. He has released releases and podcasts for such labels as Otake Records, Egothermia Records, Schron, subchord, ECHOLOKACJA, Deep Electronics, Vidno Airlines Records, Psylocybina.

New Retrospect podcast belongs to Piotr Klejment! Enjoy!

BIO:
At the age of 22, Piotr Klejment (then known as Ninja) won the prestigious national DJ competition and in the same year performed in front of a huge audience at the Mayday festival in Katowice. Later, things gained a specific pace: he became the artistic manager in two Warsaw's legendary clubs: M25 and Tomba Tomba, which resulted in the fulfillment of dreams of inviting legends from Detroit: Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills and Kevin Saunderson, and shortly later also Robert Hood. Piotr's successes include cooperation with Echoplex (as the Detour duo), organizing the first electronic music squat parties in Warsaw and recording a series of "Experience" mixes, which was heard by several hundred thousand people in total. He belonged to the Technosoul collective and publishing house, which co-created the scene of the same name at the Up To Date festival in Białystok. On the first publication of the above-mentioned The label released two productions of Piotr accompanied by remixes of Perc and Sleeparchive. Thanks to this album, Piotr spread his wings as a producer and DJ (including performance in Tresor). Another EP for Technosoul (.01.5.Ltd) was released in May 2015 with a remix from his old friend Echoplex. Another vinyl release was a remix for Rraph - a Krakow producer, where, next to Truncate, he recorded his version on this album. A few months later, Truncate, recording a mix for the best record store in Tokyo, included Technosoul's second release. Piotr played at a few more festivals. In 2016, an illness interrupted his career. Since then, he has only played a few gigs and released an ep (Illegal Alien Rec, Gynoid, Sonntag Morgen. His remix for Basement Reborn was played, among others, by by Richie Hawtin at a Boiler Room show in Buenos Aires. It all ended in 2018 with his own vinyl release, co-created with M. Głowik - Eastern Block Warsaw. 2022 ends with 6 years of total absence, the result of which will be his return to the stage in 2023. Piotr's music is a mix of many fascinations, incl. Basquiat's painting, early hip hop culture, Ninja Tune and Tri Angle labels, or the characters of Zomby, Drexciya, Underground Resistance, and the sound of Roland TB-303.

John, Toledo born Barcelona based (Spain), started Korben Nice project on 2012, with the aim of evolving over the years and develop its own sounds within the styles of electronic music. He stands out for the diversity, harmonic, atmospheric, electronic, techno, hard-techno or ambient are styles that define him. The project has taken different forms since its inception with collaborations with artists like: Eric Fetcher, Hd-Substance, Michel Lauriola, Samuel L Session, Cyklos, Leandro Gámez, Kalter Ende, Setaoc Mass, Drop-E o Signal coda. His references have been published on Dynamic Reflection, Children Of Tomorrow, Concerns Music, Wunderblock, SUB tl, to name some labels. His performances have sounded in international locations including Madrid, London, Barcelona, Lyon, Pamplona, Toledo and legendary clubs as Razzmatazz, Moog, Family Club, Terminal, Yasta Club, Laut, Sala Arena, The Garage Of The Bass Valley among others.
