Brazilian producer Joyce Muniz continues her electro fascination on her new release for Exploited, serving up two slick dancefloor monsters that are both full of her inimitable energy and charisma.

‘Machine Talk’ is electro with a lightness of touch, the lead arpeggio perfectly tuned and EQed to be naggingly infectious without being overbearing. Propelling the track forward, it’s supported by deft, spacious percussion and some nice moments of melodic friction. The breakdown brings on a dreamy feel with thick delays and glistening chime hits, a haunting melody woven deep into the mix as the track progresses. Well-deployed FX hits punctuate just when needed, and each element feels perfectly placed in the mix.

‘Liberdade’ (which means 'Freedom' in portuguese) was the first song written after lockdown when Joyce was able to play for an audience again. This one is a more intense beast, with acidic bubbling teasing in the distance as thumping kicks and snares trade blows. A menacing bassline snarl stutters and pulses with sinister intent as a variety of percussive loops form an unusual rhythmic groove. More cowbell! The bassline also hints at resonant acidic squelchiness, lashing out like a scorpion’s tail as breathy vocals and electric guitar hits further enhance the groove. The heady breakdown lets swirling pads soar around the vocals, allowing for a potent drop when everything kicks back in.

My Favorite Robot welcome the collaborative outfit of Rodion & Local Suicide for their next EP, which comes boosted by remixes from Los Mekanikos, Moscoman and Fairmont, as well as artwork that is made up 3D prints of the act. 

Los Mekanikos combine raw hypno-rhythm tracks with pumping grooves that pay homage to Chicago, Detroit and Berlin. Their special remix is another late night and unhinged number that encourages you to freak out amongst the panning and paranoid synth patterns and robotic grooves.

Tel Aviv based duo Red Axes takes you on a “Tour de Chile” and we suspect one of the tourist attractions being some dirty leather club hidden in a former gold mine.
Producers and DJs Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi have got a new wave and post-punk background as members of another band called Red Cotton, and one can hear it from the EBM-ish dark techno sounds of the three original tracks featured in the “Tour de Chile” EP. They go along with two remixes by Soft Rocks and Bobmo.

01. “Tour de Chile” follows a mine-trolley on the tracks of hell.

02. “Sun Goes Down” shows some restricted angst with its slow-mo jacking.

03. “On and On” is undoubtedly operated by a nasty robot promoting its own conception of groove.  

04. “Tour de Chile (Soft Rocks dark and stormy remix)” has nothing soft; rather, its binary obsession hardens the mood of the original.

05. “On and On (Bobmo remix)” add the ravey twist that the French Boy is keen on. 

Additional background about Red Axes:
Red Axes is a project created by Tel- Aviv Based producers &amp; DJs: Dori Sadovnik &amp; Niv Arzi.
The duo has been performing together for over 6 years, first as members of the new wave / post punk band Red Cotton which is still the moniker they use for some materials today.
After living in Amsterdam and traveling in Europe for a while, the guys returned to Tel-Aviv and began an underground psychedelic electronic party series called "Break It!". 
In 2009, after a year of djing, producing and promoting parties all over Tel Aviv, they established a new vision and concept for all of their artistic endeavors - focusing on house, disco and techno and they started to release their tracks. Their first release "White Murder" came out on Statra recrodings from NYC. They also won a Beatport remix contest with their 
deep and funky interpretation of Yello's "Bostich" under the moniker Red Cotton alongside Shlomi Zidan. In 2011 they realesed "Bela” Ep and "Into My Dreams” on Klasse Recordings. 2012 starts with “Tour de Chile” EP on I’m a Cliché. 
In the Tel Aviv night scene they were booked to play alongside Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Pilooski just to name a few...

Endless arps warped into nasty basslines is what we manage on "Minilogue“. Yeah it’s kind of a tribute to a silver machine. Please wait for the break, though. Calming things down with a skit of Ambient. Well, 2018, bring it on!

Not An Animal are known for their heated takes on the art of disco-sampling house music, and Ess O Ess is one of the key factors in defining that sound. This comes through in spades on Take You To A Secret Place, where the title track comes marching out atop a deadly bassline that will cut through any mix to get the people freaking out. The dub mix is equally deadly, flying a generous dose of cosmic sparkle into the mix without losing the punch in the original production. Kuniyuki Hard takes a daring approach that slows the track down to a creep and emphasises space and tension. The Angophora version is even more drastic, seemingly stripping all the recognisable elements of the track out and leaving behind a plaintive thread of ambient instrumentation.

Londoner Jay Rossi, better known under his Jac The Disco moniker, delivers the first EP of his newly and co-founded label Spin On This'. 'Cosmic Matters', the title of the label's debut EP, comes with two original tracks, 'Cosmic Matters' and 'Bali Dance', as well as two remixes from two of the scene's most iconic producers, namely I:Cube and Prins Thomas. While French legend I:Cube took on remix duties for 'Bali Dance', Prins Thomas reworks the EP's title track. The Norwegian producer turns the orginal take into an eight minute lasting journey of blissful and mental sound-experiences paired with a lush bass line that's basically rolling out the red carpet for the varying synths and percussions to walk the path and transport the listener to a mental state of mind that hits closest to the imagination of reaching fulfillment in sound spheres and niches.
