Finally a new song is finished 😊! It feels like it’s taken forever and the reason? Here’s a selection of my thoughts and reflections since my last song was released 10(!) months ago: “It’s not good enough”, “It sounds like everything else I’ve already made”, Why am I doing this?” etc. I’ve probably gone through 50+ ideas which has then been discarded (not deleted but put in the “Who knows” folder) and I have revisited the “lovely” thoughts of: “Maybe it’s time to do something else and just sell all my composition gear, I’m probably all out of good musical ideas anyway” I have worked incredibly hard over the last couple of months to remember the reasons why I write music which I like to call imagining beautiful places using music as a tool to transport me there 😊 Being a perfectionist and giving one self a hard time while being creative (in any endeavor) is something we humans are amazingly good at (and I say that with some irony 😉) Having good friends & mental sparring partners around us is sometimes vital to get out of our own mental thought patterns and ways of viewing ourselves. That helped for me in addition to have a very patient and supportive girlfriend. In addition to that it is good to find and celebrate the joyous experiences of coming up with a chord progression, blending different instruments to create a certain sound which then becomes a journey into a musical wonderland in and of itself 😊
I’m glad to say that I’ve found my joy in writing music again (the funny thing was that I forgot where/how to look 😊) and I hope you enjoy this new song and that it transports you to a place of wonder – enjoy and sorry for the ramblings 😊

Also if you find yourself being to hard on you, then I wish that you rediscover joy and give yourself room to be creative in your life 😊

  This was the first Original song and music i made in Garageband, when I got my home studio..   😊                  lyrics:                                                   i didnt want to see you go,  but you was acting like a stone .. So i just had to make a choice, and listen to my inner voice..              i didnt know how to survive,  and i really had to dive.. down in the ocean of clouds.. but in the end i will feel proud. .                                I took a step into my dreams,  try to understand what they means.. i held my breath and count  to ten, searching for myself again..                                  i'll spread my wings out to fly, looking down from the sky. and while i watched you walked away, i smiled and let the pain fade..                                            Dont be afraid to live alone, you are stronger than you know..   Just keep your head up and be proud,  raise your voice and be loud .                                            the future lies there for your feet,  walk the steps in your own street.. Bevare you always have a choice,  Just listen to your inner voice..

This is a song written in response to a prompt by the "Muse and Method" group, which consists of some of my creative friends here in Kansas City. The theme this time was to create something based on the words "If Only".
