Some things do take time to come full circle, as such is the case of master artist Yusuke Teranishi and 'Moments'. Lesh's "Light & Shade" EP explores the duality of human experience, capturing the interplay between light and darkness through expansive melodic progressions and deep, evolving atmospheres. This EP encapsulates the beauty of contrasts, where moments of brilliance rise against the backdrop of shadow, creating an emotive journey that blends uplifting euphoria with introspective depth. Each track is an invitation to explore the shifting balance between hope and mystery, offering listeners a sonic landscape that ebbs and flows, as delicate as it is dynamic.

The EP opener, "Waves of Sound", sets the stage with cascading synths that mimic the ebb and flow of the ocean. Rich, atmospheric layers wash over the listener, creating a sense of serenity over the grounding bassline and rhythm. As the waves of sound build and recede, so does the sense of light piercing through moments of darkness, offering both warmth and space for reflection. 

As a beautiful contrast to the opening track, "Shades of Dawn" encapsulates the stillness and gradual awakening of the world at daybreak. The track begins with a soft, introspective atmosphere, filled with subtle melodic nuances and evolving textures that evoke the first light of morning. As the rhythm builds, it carries with it a sense of quiet optimism, the promise of something new emerging from the shadows. Marking his third release to date, San Diego-based producer Jack Emery unveils his enchanting ‘Halo’ EP on Purified Records. The title track opens with ethereal vocals and a serene arrangement, balancing intimacy and expansiveness. ‘Above The Clouds’ shifts to vibrant synth melodies and infectious rhythms, exuding playful energy, while ‘Rays of Hope’ closes the EP with a deep emotional build, soaring into a triumphant finale.

The ‘Halo’ EP artwork hosts a photograph taken by Kelsey Williamson, an adventurer and photographer passionate about exploring the world’s most remote and stunning regions. Her work captures untamed landscapes and underwater wonders, inspiring a deeper connection to the wild and a curiosity for the unknown.
There’s a pass in the South Pacific, off the island of Fakarava in French Polynesia, where the underwater world thrives—particularly for sharks. Known as "The Wall of Sharks," this pass is renowned for the hundreds of grey reef sharks that hunt at night and drift with the current during the day. Nearby, there’s a remarkable coral reef called the Magic Carpet Ride, which houses a vibrant ecosystem now facing the increasing threat of coral bleaching. Despite being relatively free of agricultural runoff, the reef is slowly deteriorating, which underscores a sobering reality: if a place like this is struggling, it highlights a serious global issue we must address.
