Josef Gaard (@josefgaard) is a project focused on music as a conduit. Originally based in the Seattle area and now settled in Berlin, he has been sharing his salient sound through productions and performances for years. With a 12" coming up on @kalawila ’s Mountain Explosion Device, he is continuing to push his music forward with a distinct touch. This mix showcases the different edges of his musical sphere, from nordic house to electro to techno and back again.

This Thursday 2 August he plays at OHM alongside the special live debut of Acronym (@4cr0nym) & @kali-malone.

Mysteries Of The Deep, Chapter VII. Descent To Collapse Depth by .thejass.

“Descent To Collapse Depth” is like sinking to the ocean bottom with no chance of coming back up for air - the set drowns the last rays of sunlight with 38 weighted tracks of dark ambient, experimental, electronic, and drone sounds mixed into 80 plunging minutes. While the falling temperatures of submerged drum beats slowly consume the last pockets of warm oxygen, the crushing depth of pressure will have the skeletal remains of each listener embedded into the seabed where the domain of eternal silence, complete blackness, and tranquility add to the mysteries of the deep.

Mysteries of the Deep is a New York-based record label, podcast, and event series — focused on ambient & experimental music in various forms. Mysteries — as fans lovingly call it — is concerned with exploration of unknown realms, and its focus, in addition to showcasing a dynamic spectrum of electronic music from foremost artists in the field, is to thoughtfully engage its audience. 

Conceptualized in 2011, Mysteries began as a podcast series that, now in its eleventh year, has hosted an array of mixes and original works. The project has since evolved, expanding into a curated global event series and record label.
