Some of our art is made on computers, some of it is made by hand. We are particularly interested in that gray area in between where you cant really tell. All of what we create here is one work laid out in segments, all connected. The Mystic Tape Deck universe is vast and explores all manner of adding meaning to our lives, while pondering meaninglessness.

My name is Wayne R Flower, I am a musician who played semi-professionally for 20 years in bands such as State of Confusion (bass) Treepeople (drums), the Halo Benders (drums and bass), Violent Green (bass) and more. 

While I haven't been playing music at that same level for many years, I am still active, having recently been part of Treepeople reunion tours (2018, 2019 and 2023 - the last ever tour). I am currently working on a solo album called 'You're the One You Love,' co-producing with Steve Fisk.

I started this page to showcase my solo work that I had done sporadically over decades, but now that I have finally gained some modest skill at songwriting, I will be more prolific on here to promote releases, sketches and demos of my work.

Much of what is here, especially the playlist called 'Home Recordings', are songs from sessions where I put together something on-the-spot; improv compositions. Therefore, a lot of it is fairly experimental, and the sound quality isn't always the best! Songs may have been recorded on a 4 track cassette recorder with only two tracks working, for instance, and it may have been recorded during the '80s when my skill at home recording and mixing was minimal.

I hope you enjoy what you hear, and stay tuned for more playlists, some of which will include other musicians I have collaborated with.

" House, garden-  and kitchen " -recordings of the proverbial kind by a North Holland province dwelling duo since 1999.
The name refers to human-made cropcircles and the fact that most of our tracks are the same few chords over and over again.
