“Dumpster diving know-how” consists of six tracks that operate both on acid sequences and on fairy-tale-like synthesizers. But this fairy tale is eerie, full of sound waste and disastrous prophecies. There’s room for a tribal apocalypse (“War Drums For Children”), broken acid techno (“The Most Complex Thing” recorded together with Elena Sizowa, a Belarussian DJ and producer) and some spooky yet magical synth landscapes (“Take A Deep Breath & Dive Into The Bin”). What can be heard throughout the whole mini-album is the excellent sound that is not afraid of dirt, noise and “sound waste” that the title refers to. 

Dumpster diving know-how” mini-album will be available on green vinyl and the person responsible for the perfectly matched artwork is Bartosz Zaskórski/Mchy i Porosty.that’s coming out on CGI Records from Atlanta on the 15th March.

Lost Signals Volume 1 - Various artists compilation, cassette &amp; digital release by Mystictrax Records (Chernobyl, Ukraine)

A group of international scientists, specializing in sound, have been deciphering signals coming from a black hole, located next to the Mars-satellite “Phobos”. It turns out the cipher contains 11 tracks of audio files. It is suggested the signals were sent by Soviet scientists, during a secret 1986 expedition, in which they were to study the horizon of events inside a black hole; a mission from which they never returned. The audio files were recorded in various formats, among others on 20 exclusive cassette tapes, by the secret “Mystictrax” station somewhere in Chernobyl. The cassette holders automatically receives digital copies of the release. “We are sure that these records hide many more mysteries, and we want all of humanity to take part in solving it” - said a senior station employee. The signals were decoded and personally processed by the following scientists, after which they were given a unique name. A number of the scientists have however chosen to remain anonymous.

Third number in the DDS split series after a pair of releases courtesy of Betonkust/Új Bála and DJ Overdose/Sematic4, ‘DDS03’ sees Budapest duo SILF (alias Farbwechsel chief-operators Alpár & S Olbricht) and Den Haag-based pair Intergalactic Gary and Pasiphae join forces on a quartet of elusive, unpigeonholeable power moves.

Four years after the drop of their debut joint EP on Biorhythm, ‘Made of Glass’, I-G and Pasiphae are back at it with two left-of-centre hybrids of futuristic techno on a whirring electro-industrial tip. An off-kilter jam percolating fine hints of spiritual elation and post-apocalyptic anxiety, ‘Microwaves’ gets the ball rolling on a dichotomous note. To slo-scudding flocks of loud, bouncy kicks supersede skeins of brittle chimes and rattling drums, all woven together by subtle tectonic shifts of moody pads.
