‘The Mississippi Freaks’ were a short-lived first incarnation of this three piece raw energy rhythm & blues outfit that lasted barely a year, only did a handful of gigs, but was great fun and had bags of potential… that this first line-up unfortunately couldn’t really live up to.  The band was formed in the back end of 2011.  By the end of 2012 the energy had gone, replaced by individual philosophical  differences, and with new projects beckoning the ‘Mississippi Freaks’ project was mothballed pending it’s next yet unknown incarnation.

These are some of the rehearsal recordings, many of which are from the initial sessions, recorded in glorious live stereo with a Zoom H1.  Edited and re-mastered by Sack 2015.

Famously introduced at gigs by Jeff as Sack’s recipe for sex, meringue and black pepper, this roots-rockin’ sack-abilly-boogie song is loaded with juicy, fruity, innuendo and suggestive smut! The ‘full on’ version has been a feature of the live set as a closing number for a good while now. It unashamedly leans toward the language of the old dirty blues of the likes of Bo Carter, it’s just good clean lust …but in a filthy way, for filthy minds! And if you don’t do innuendo… then it’s just a recipe for a spicy tart!

Leicestershire based rock band "PRETTY WICKED" who disbanded around 1986. This song was recorded circa 1984 & rescued/converted from an old cassette(It WAS nearly THIRTY) years ago!
The line-up on the recording is pictured & was as follows: Back Row(Left to Right) Gaz Butler-Guitar/Vox, Ady Bates-Drums & CONCUSSION & Dave Wilkins-Bass/Vox. Front Row: Steve Smith(Left)-Voice & Mark Evans(Right)-Guitar/Vox. Happy memories!  D.W.

"I've Heard" was recorded circa 1984. Line-up was as per image/photo and the other track(Too Much Too Late).
The band "Pretty Wicked" evolved from earlier incarnations: "Valhalla" & "Wikkyd Vikker", both of whom were Leicestershire based(EarlShilton, Barwell & Hinckley).
