The ground is hot. The air is still. Time seems to hold its breath. Māui's brothers begin to doubt, overwhelmed by the presence of something divine. But Māui stands firm, calm, and focused. He begins preparing the trap — laying the sacred rope, blessing the ground with ancestral chants.
