Original message: Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings from all here at The Xylen Roberts Manor...and by that I mean my off grid right wing Militiaman style shack. Anyway, I know this is coming a day late and a dollar short and a bridge too far and a river runs through it, but I have a special Christmas gift for all y'all! This last week I have been cooking up a new Mythsnifter instrumental jam called 'Vision 1: Jacked Frost'. It's a cut off an upcoming Winter Solstice/Christmas themed new instrumental Mythshifter album. It won't be dropping until late January or Februrary but the holidays are state of mind, maaaaaaaaan. I'm Dennis Hopper, duuuuuuude. Hell out in the fuckin' Netherlands they have a Saint Nick Festival in muthafuckin' May, man. That's fuckin' mental!!! In Fuckin' May is when the the dear departed Hopster's birthday is, maaaaaan! You ever look into the eyes of a flaming faggot and see the ghosts of Saint Nicholas of staring back at you cause I have man, once, in Nam!!! Anyway, moving on from my dumb Dennis Hopper impersonation...

The first leaked track 'Vision 1: Jacked Frost' is a sort of hard tin organy, glockenspielish, sleigh bellicosin' spooky winter jam that sounds like Mannheim Steamroller, Richard D. James (of Aphex Twin), and Can all went caroling together but accidentally took a wrong turn and wound up in the woods where an interdimensional time warp caused everyone to wind up at the top of a mountain tripping on mushrooms with Alejandro Jodorowsky...or something to that effect.  Hey do you like run-on sentences? Because if the last sentence is any indication, I sure as heck do! Annnnnnnnywho, I had some ideas to do an entire Various Vortices style variety Christmas podcast with music, comedy skits, and interviews but didn't get the inspiration until it was too late. So instead I worked up a new song. Oh well, there's always next year, ya big queers! Double anyway, I hope you're all having some Happy Holidays. Cause mine have been a little crappy in all honesty. Gastroesophagael issues thanks to a lapse to the old drinkypoo paid me a visit before Santa came a slip slidin' down the chimney this year. But it's cool: Nothin' some Tagamet, bone broth, chamomile tea, and two weeks to two months of healing won't cure!  Yippy-ki-yay, muthafuckas! In all seriousness though: Alcohol can suck my muthafuckin' dick! Definitely plan on permanently quitting that shit and sticking with it this time.

Vision 4- Three Gold Spheres Arise Above The Winter Trees

instrumental project of producer/multiinstrumentalist/vocalist Chris Robertson aka Xylen Roberts https://soundcloud.com/xylen-roberts and other monikers. Experimental often microtonal interpretations of idm, post-jazz,  funk, techno, trip hop, folk hop, ambient and other genres. Its different from Xylen Roberts because the latter is predominantly experimental singer-songwriter based with vocals. Mythshifter is not. Some of the older Mythshifter tracks from 2011/2012 have vocals but they are done in a freeform non-lyrical incantaction way (see 'woven in the tapestry'). Released several long form layered improvisation albums under this moniker back in 2012 before mostly working with the XR project over the last couple of years. Now I have amassed an album of new, more beat-oriented instrumental material and have released it as Fast Times At Centaur Vortex (2016).

+++Addendum: A LOT has happened since I last updated this Mythshifter. I haven't released new Mythshifter material since 2016's Fast Times etc. I have been busy with my main singer-songwriter project Xylen Roberts, making comedy and discussion videos, podcasts, getting my YouTube account shadowbanned and some videos deleted, various health issues (including frequent bouts with severe GERD and Fibromyalgia), and so on and so forth.
