Iron Galaxy returns with 'Climate', a track that he produced with Sexlife and it comes as part of a four-track split EP via new imprint Obsession Records. As the label's first release, the track does well to open up proceedings.

There are also tracks from Primitive World, Didemus and Yør on the record but here we put the spotlight on Iron Galaxy & Sexlife's efforts. 'Climate' is a forward-thinking, dancefloor focused roller. It's eerie, atmospheric and fully-loaded with demonic synth lines and pounding drum patterns. Get involved.

n s y d e is starting a new series of releases, and Volume 1 comes from close label artist and friend Mobach. Entitled XieniX (which is a phonetical Dutch spelling for “I can’t see anything”) the series is named after an influential 90s club in the city of Gouda that made a lasting impact on the young Mobach. 

Mobach has won plenty of acclaim with tracks like 2014’s ‘At The Mines of Planet X’ before now. His sound is a fusion of house, jazz, techno and ambient and really takes you to another world. This timeless new EP carries on in that vein. 

‘XieniX’ builds in curious and intriguing ways with far of synths and watery droplets pulling you right int to he centre of the track. Again slow and purposeful, it’ features some find sound design and is evocative as a result.  This is a moody, soundscaping EP that works as well as home as it does on the dance floor.

We first introduced these strapping young house aficionados from Sligo, Ireland, with their debut EP as a pair, “Street Urchin”, a little over a year ago. Since then the guys have been busy with a massive release on Detroit Swindle’s label Heist, not to mention their unbridled musical passion lead them to launch their own label Splendor & Squalor beginning of this year, kicking things off with a sell out vinyl only pressing of another four track EP of their own imaginings featuring a hot remix from Session Victim. 

We’re pleased to share with you their latest creation, the stunning “Lamaj’s Secret EP”. Now, we’re not sure who Lamaj is exactly, but the mystery, funk and raw sex appeal in these four jams certainly has us wondering. 

First up we meet “Lamaj”, this track drips with delicate melodic samples, jazz tainted drums and bass driven funk galore. We asked our long time friend, Australian Andy Hart, to give it a flip for us on A2. He opened things up, deepened the vibe and brought some bass toms to deliver a final punch. The B-side begins with “Four Lights”, here the guys slow things down a little and remind us of their gift for nostalgia touched soul and groove samples. Finally, “Garlic Fist Pump”, as the name suggests, takes us straight back out to the dance floor, between the dynamic live drums, subtle vocal snips cry to the hip hop Brame & Hamo draw so much inspiration from. Welcome to the House of Lamaj, we hope you’ll take off your coat and stay a while.

One year on since his last full length venture 5 on Mule Musiq, house music aristocracy Fred P announces the subsequent 6 LP to mark the second part of a soon-to-be trilogy under his FP-Oner alias. These eleven tracks demonstrate the many cosmic qualities of Fred's deeper shade of soul, orchestrated for club soundsystems as well as home speakers. A notable follow-up in the NYC native's prolific 20+ year career.

An LP highlight comes in the form of "Reap Love", built up of some of dance music's favourite sounds. Percussive energy is rife from the off, with dreamy panning chords from the synthesiser adding to the nostalgic utopia of clubland's heyday. The melodies' lazy, seducing progression taps into a more spiritual, meditative feel. A true encapsulation of a dance music era that comes directly from one of its torchbearers.
