The Metalheadz back catalogue features almost every major figure in the history of drum and bass, and is one of the most innovative labels out there, consistently crossing boundaries with its releases since 1994. The labels output continues to showcase a maturing genre of music that displays influences from reggae, hip-hop, house and techno with highly-sophisticated and intricately-produced tracks, contrary to the image of the music that is typically presented by the mass media.

Releasing music from some of the biggest names out there whilst at the same time pushing and letting new talent break through are the reasons why Metalheadz continues to stay at the forefront of electronic music.

The Metalheadz label was also the driving force behind the seminal Sunday Session Club Nights, which achieved legendary status at London's Blue Note club. Today, Metalheadz club nights are often sell outs with the label also regularly hosting stages at some of the biggest festivals across the world.

Yugoslavian born musician and video artist MEDIKA grew up in the UK and delved into her passions at an early age. Landing at the age of 9, speaking no English and raised by Nintendo, she got her first decks at 15, a belt drive Soundlab and a record player, which trained her up for the 12"10s bought soon after. Surrounded by a wide company of fellow djs, she snuk off to university and self funded a Masters degree in Video arts. Alongside a music video showreel that runs deep through the bass music scene, Medika also kept a club night alive using her video skills and the company of fellow musicians who used it as a testing ground for their unreleased productions. 
First female on tons of underground labels medika is stacking dubs and continues her reign as she now returns to her homeland managing festivals, with Noise Test tightly under her belt. 
She continues to DJ using traktor with vinyl controllers, and her unreleased noise test mix series has influenced many. With a heavy focus on experimental sub genres of drum and bass she can happily take you on a deep journey and equally mash up the dance.
A career in IT has funded all her projects over the last 16 years with the future looking bright and showing no sign of slowing down.

Showcasing, cultivating and supporting the best of underground electronic music in Birmingham, UK. 

Since starting in 2013, Listening Sessions has hosted monthly producer open-showcase events where local producers meet up to test their latest creations on nightclub sound systems. This is the melting pot for electronic music producers in the city and the place to hear exclusive music getting its first play out in the open! 

Spanning the full spectrum of electronic music, Listening Sessions also run traditional live music events at venues across the city and have invited some of the most pioneering DJs and producers and labels from around the UK to join the diverse roster of artists within the local community to create some of the most forward-thinking lineups that flow through genres to build and expand as the night develops. At times you can hear Reggae/Dub, Hip-hop,
2-step, Techno, Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Jungle and more on just a single night. 

Listening Sessions' mission is to encourage collaboration, development and diversity within the electronic music scene in Birmingham. The grassroots community spirit nurtured by the brand has resulted in a number of signings to both local, national and international record labels. In September Listening Sessions started their own music label to share the wealth of talent from within the community with the rest of the world! The inaugural release, “Contortion/Exoskeleton + Remixes” by Listening Sessions regular Yilan received support on leading UK radio stations such as Rinse.fm, Radar Radio and NTS while also getting plays at Festivals like Outlook in Croatia and number of UK festivals including Boomtown, Glastonbury and Shambala.
