I composed this album during the last end of the world. Not the current one, but the one before. The fourth or the fifth... I lost count. Maybe before fascism took over Europe, or before the Beirut port exploded, I'm not sure. This is not a celebration of the apocalypse, nor a shamanic dance. It's a dive into the distant past, around the 1930s, I think. It was the age of the first recordings in the Arab world, while my grandparents were still living in Palestine, before they were massacred or deported, before their own end of the world.
These are fragments of lost, forgotten recordings that I found in the sand by the sea. I pieced them together as much as I could with the only glue I had: analog sound machines, more or less recent. Who were these voices ? I have no idea. Well, sometimes I have a fragment of information, a title, a name, a date. But most of the time, I just listen and my fingers start to move gently. When I squint my eyes, it's because I see something I can't describe, but it's there, and it makes me want to inhabit the song, to live in it for days.

J'ai composé cet album lors de la dernière fin du monde. Non pas celle que nous vivons actuellement, mais celle d'avant. La quatrième ou la cinquième... je ne les compte plus. Peut-être avant que le fascisme ne contrôle l'Europe, ou avant l'explosion du port de Beyrouth, je ne suis plus sûr. Ce n'est pas une célébration de l'apocalypse, ni une danse chamanique. C'est plutôt un plongeon dans un passé lointain, vers les années 1930, il me semble. C'était l'époque des premiers enregistrements dans le monde arabe, lorsque mes grands-parents vivaient encore en Palestine, avant d'être massacrés ou déportés, avant leur propre fin du monde.
Ce sont des morceaux d'enregistrements perdus, oubliés, que j'ai retrouvés dans le sable au bord de la mer. J'ai recollé ces morceaux du mieux que j'ai pu avec la colle que j'avais : des machines sonores analogiques, plus ou moins récentes. Qui étaient ces chanteuses et chanteurs ? Je n'en sais rien. Enfin si, des fois j'ai une bribe d'information, un titre, un nom, une date. Mais la plupart du temps, j'écoute et mes doigts se mettent à bouger doucement. Lorsque je plisse les yeux, c'est que je vois quelque chose que je ne peux pas décrire, mais qui est là et qui me donne envie d'habiter cette chanson, d'y vivre pendant des jours.

Salute to Gaza

I Write Your Name, My Country/Biktob Issmek Ya Bladi

This is a love song written in Arabic (Lebanese dialect)in which the writer is asking his partner to stay by his side tonight, even though the lights went off and things are not the same anymore. 

He knows how difficult it must be to feel left out, a bit ignored and it's all because of the overwhelming aspect of life from bills to accounts and university fees to name a few.

He also knows that the car is no longer there, for them to travel away from all of this, but he assures her that he kept a picture of it beside his bed, so that both of them can "visit" whenever they feel like it.

In short, the verse "Khallik Haddi Llayli" means stay by my side tonight.

The band has been making Lebanese original songs based on rock blues influences since 2010 and this is their 3rd single release/music video directed by Leila Basma.

A group of Lebanese musicians making music based on rock and blues influences and translated into Arabic non commercial songs.

The band got together in 2010 but Nachaz has been writing and composing since 2008 and is ongoing since.

Concerts started at the old T marbouta, later came Tournesol theater, Mojo crew club, Obros pub, Fete de la musique for six consecutive years, the Hamra festival [not to forget the video launch of the band's first recorded music video hit "7obbak plastic" at EM chill] The Blindpig, Pasteur, Zico house, Zakariya, Radio Beirut and Al Madina theater to name a few.

Nachaz made a statement in March 2012 by performing on a moving pick up truck in the streets of Hamra; 
This was their attempt to get Hamra's real cultural vibe back and give the people some distressing time with music.

In June 2013, Nachaz went back to the streets; this time in a walking concert where amplifiers were all jammed in on balloons' decorated trolleys again around Hamra Streets.

The band currently has more than 25 original songs.
