This is the 9th episode of our monthly podcast 'Nachtstrom Sessions' mixed by Denise Rabe!

Denise Rabe's experience in the Berlin techno scene as a booker, radio host, promoter and dj since she relocated to German capital drawn by the possibility of a life in music, is reflected in the pragmatic, grounded artist she became and the unique, original voice she's developed as a producer.
 
Her approach and work ethic can be seen expressed on every release she's done under her label, Rabe, where her music is matched with an equal amount of care, thought and work, in the vessels that contain it, within a coherent aesthetic and vision that informs music, artwork and presentation equally.
 
This has allowed her to recruit the artist who's work resonates with her sensibility and can be heard in the remixes Rrose, Shxcxchcxsh, Headless Horseman, among others, have done for her releases on her and other labels.
 
Imprints such as Mutewax, who released her first 12“ in 2015, ARTS where she quickly became one of the label's staples and Stroboscopic Artifacts where she published „Manifesto“ in 2019, are clear reference points that describe her career and its development.
 
Rabe's particular inclination to sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, driven grooves under hooks that hypnotize as much as they distinguish, have propelled her 10 year career across stages all over the US, Asia and Europe, as well as the clubs that represent the apex of techno world wide such as Berghain and Tresor.

Berlin-based French DJ and producer Perfo is our guest this week with a special two-hour round of cross-pollinated salvos and anti-normative grooves. Having made a name for himself through a string of releases for key imprints including MORD, 47 or Hayes Collective, Perfo serves up a masterly executed set spanning the breadth of his adventurous scope and clinical skillset. From faux-tribal polyrhythmic evocations to future-facing hi-tech stunts, through nods to heavy-lidded machine funk and the Detroit sound's trademark blend of rough-hewn firepower and ebullient sensuality. Portuguese DJ and producer Lewis Fautzi has steadily risen from the quiet town of Barcelos to the forefront of the global techno scene. His trajectory has been nothing short of interstellar; launching with early releases on Portugal’s Soniculture, and quickly becoming a fixture on genre-defining labels like Soma, PoleGroup, Figure, Warm Up, and his own Faut Section.

His debut album The Gare Album, named after the Porto club that helped shape his artistic vision, was a bold opening statement: raw, precise, and deeply personal. A year later, Space Exploration pushed further; revealing his appetite for ambient experimentation. 

Across his discography and throughout his DJ sets, Fautzi blends dense atmospheres with magnetic, machine-like rhythms; building a sound that feels as mechanical as it is alive.

 A true craftsman of deep space sonics, he channels the gravity of the cosmos into #254: tense, immersive and unrelenting. This is Lewis Fautzi at full force.
