@guavanoise returns to Control Freak for his second full length EP ‘The Dolphins are Back in Venice’ - a collection of 4 playful dancefloor bangers, precision engineered for the club.

Since his Control Freak debut with the ‘Lift’ EP in 2019, Guava has been hard at work in the studio. Following a move to Berlin (and a series of releases on the likes of Banoffee Pies and Holding Hands) he’s back on the label with a new and refined style, retaining the melodic flourishes of his earlier releases whilst turning his focus squarely towards the dancefloor - a perfect fit for our white label series.

As an accomplished session musician, Guava continues to explore the synthesis between digital and analog production and songwriting techniques, innovatively self-sampling his own guitar playing across the record to add a human touch to his airtight productions. On new 4-tracker ‘The Dolphins are Back in Venice’, which includes collaborations with rising UK artists @breakaleeds & @soundsofluxe, Guava draws influence from a broad range of dance music styles in true CF fashion - combining rising, trance-influenced melodies with the syncopated rhythms and bassweight of the UK scene.

Blurring the lines between UK techno, bass and breakbeat, Out of Sorts present their first release, The Crescent VA. Despite being newcomers on the scene, the Bristol-based label pulls in five artists who are by no means newcomers themselves. Dyslecta teams up with the label after a string of releases this year on Dim Sum, Gated Recordings and Ape-X. Heading up the B-side, Engram is a bouncy, ryhthmic affair packed with intricate percussion, rich sub-bass and vocals that wouldn't go amiss in the heights of the rave era. 
With Dyslecta joining artists Will Hofbauer, An Avrin, Bobo and Farr on this VA, this track sets the pace for the rest of the release. With pre-orders available now ahead of the full limited press release on 21st May, this is a release that isn't set to stick around for long. Rushing us headlong into a vorticist maelstrom of hard-edged drum stutter and polychromatic synth fragmentation, Sansibar sophomore long-player for Kalahari Oyster Cult - “Sans Musique” - tackles the very essence of post-trancey, breaks-loaded UK blends with unabashed joy to wreak havoc on his path. Throughout seven tracks oozing burnt kerosene and depleted uranium residue merged with a hint of sacred incense, Sansibar deploys his extra-wide vision for the present and future of dance music.

“Scully” attacks pedal to the metal, hi-intensity bass onslaughts and knee-buckling breaks roaring as the groove slings us at bullet-speed into a hot, narrow barrel of floor-focused aggression. 

Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, Sansibar is a non-pareil cosmic traveller - also producer, resident DJ at Kaiku and Post Bar and wave agitator on IDA Radio and EOS Radio - whose genre-unbound sound credentials for the likes of Kalahari Oyster Cult, Natural Sciences, Émotsiya, Darknet, Avoidance et al. have helped establish as one of today’s most intriguing talents in the European scene.

Farr returns to Out Of Sorts with his first full vinyl release, joined by Canadian artist, Ciel, on remix duties. The Vienna-based artist sets out on three new dancefloor excursions, each featuring his customary delicate melodies and complex percussion, whilst scouring different corners of the club music continuum. Ciel's remix to the B-side slammer, 'Give Me Shelter', delicately flips the track into an airy Balearic adventure, whilst retaining her signature percussive style.

This was not one thing or another. The machine was baffled and confused by its perfect array of imperfections which meant it could not be neatly packaged or placed within the categories by which it knew.

See, here was the thing, humans were always wonky. They could not be paired to the constraints of societal brackets, for then there would be little left in the realm of imagination or creative freedom. I was not we - it never had been.

Sparks began to fly as the construct of reality was shattered beneath the weight of its own clumsy foolishness. How had they ever imagined they might get away with it? For they themselves, were wonky after all.

E-Talking is a producer we've followed for years, both independently and as one half of Nummer - the hardware duo who have released music on the likes of Going Good.

E-Talking has appeared independently on the likes of Going Good and AD93 fka Whities. This next EP enters new territories, targeting the club directly with foreboding cuts of electronic music built for the dancefloor.

Sounds from another universe, let me take you deeper into Squamata, where I was born...

Taken from the album 'Return To Planet X'trapolis' out now on LKR Records

I had a lot of fun putting this track together over quite a long time, working in the triplet grid this track can be played perfectly in sync with either 100bpm or 150bpm tracks. The main break and some of the kick drums were created from one of my favourite ever natural sounds: the sound of a frozen lake thawing and snapping in spring time.. There are some other found sounds in there as well but it was also the first time I was able to use the clone of my favourite synths of all time the Syncussion Sy-1m.

Pictures like the one attached that belong to the 'Journal Of Experimental Biology' (https://jeb.biologists.org/) as well as BBC's ©Paul D. Stewart have been used as a huge source of inspiration along the way whilst writing the Album. I thought i'd share some of these as for this particular track they I feel they're a perfect match for the sound.
