"I love putting together and recording an online mix, because it feels like I’m soundtracking my own imaginary dance party. 

For this mix, I pictured a late-night renegade rave in a dark, forgotten forest outside of a city. The energy is electric and the dusty dance floor is packed with all the gays + dolls + femmes. Everyone drips with sweat, and it’s an hour before the sun rises, but the crowd is ready to go all for the last hour. Here we go…"

Ricky Mawzlin is a DJ, event organizer, musician, and all-around music nerd from Pittsburgh [USA]. With a musical craving that ranges from italo/hi-NRG, to post-punk, techno, 90s house, and more, he melds different styles, genres, and time periods together to create a sometimes playful, sometimes dark, but always joyous dance floor vibe. He’s played dance floors all across the USA and throughout eight countries. 

Ricky’s one half of Jellyfish: a DJ duo that plays & organizes underground queer parties in Pittsburgh around the USA and abroad. Jellyfish parties are epic events with crazy visuals, unpredictable DJ sets, and a collective energy that emits queer joy whether it's in a warehouse, club, marina, under a bridge, or inside a smoky bar. Dancers travel from far distances to attend.
