For our 49nd podcast we invited Leuven party collective @nachtinstelplaats. Nacht throws biweekly parties in our student capital. From time to time they experiment with daytime events, yoga sessions,... The main focus is to offer a platform for visitors and artists to express themselves, to exhibit, and to share experiences with one another. Musicwise and artwise.

Residents take care of opening and closing slots at club nights in Stelplaats. @hervez is the club's weapon of choice to record their podcast.

This week's TANK Mix comes from Bitzer Maloney and Schuttle, via Manchester label Bakk Heia Records. A sonorous collection of moody deep house rhythms, the mix was recorded at the White Hotel in Salford as a warmup of sorts for a live audiovisual performance by Steevio & Suzybee. 

When TANK asked the duo about their inspiration for the mix, they responded with the following: 

"The set delves into the slow and chuggy zones of Bitzer and schuttle’s musical tastes, encompassing deep and introspective 303 mellow-outs, opium den jazz, and playful euphoric chug, all below the 100bpm mark."

Co-curator of hazy Whomp's for heartfelt causes and embarking on a noble quest to unearth gems of yesteryear with her label Slush Records, we knew this care and attention to detail would run through to the voyage series. 

Showcasing the downtempo realms of their vinyl collection, Katie elegantly weaves a psychedelic excursion through blissed-out spring-time soundscapes & dream-state chillers. A timely mix of seasonal shifts through ambient rays metamorphosing into organic rhythms of the mystical, guided by the groove.

We're very proud to announce the release of S.O.N.S' complete 7-hour vinyl set, which was recorded at 宀 for the February 2024 edition of VG+.

S.O.N.S, real name Tim, is pushing the vinyl format throught his adventurous DJ sets and his record store Junction in Seoul, South Korea. Having settled in the city more than 10 years ago, he has been part of the local electronic music community development and is currently resident DJ of the reknowned Ring club, at the heart of the Itaewon District.With several well received records under different aliases (Dj Jacuzziy, SYO...) and collaborations (Forest Witches, Giorgio Celeste & The Cobra) mostly self released on his own labels, he divides his time between making music in the studio, caring for the customers in the store, and digging compulsively for new yet unearthed music.

An ode to the Monsoon, Q-Radio presents its Monsoon Mixtapes - 8 rainy day adventures curated by some of the most eclectic selectors in our scene.

Episode 8 features Abhi Meer, a musician, DJ and educator from Bombay, India. An ethnomusicologist and former music critic, he currently teaches the holistic WHYDJ program - a gateway into the world of DJ culture through the uncommon lenses of history, philosophy, Afro-futurism and Jungian psychology.

“I don’t share in peoples’ enthusiam for the monsoon. It’s as if the universe conspires to ruin my life for two-and-a-half months each year. If you think about it, everything’s worse in the monsoon. Sh*t is always damp. Or late. Or both.”

This is my recording from Friday night Room 2, 12:30-2am, my first time being at the mythical Free Rotation. Playing one of the first sets & seeing the room, decor and the big bad subs of Room 2, years of fantastical lore and reality melded, I wanted to keep it sexy, wonky, trippy— imagining a psychic electric swamp and how one would levitate thru it... to the sky.
