Transmigration means to pass into a different body after death and in terms of the labels policy it does just that, it takes something passed and gives it a new lease of life. David Fogarty aka Louis Satori has carefully curated the identity of his imprint using sounds of the past and with the name sake of the label, keeps that mind state in play. Fogarty has reissued such artists as Susumu Yokota(under his EBI alias), Drum Club, Alien Mutation, Downlink and more and this has seen these releases pass into some of the biggest DJ names giving them even more exposure that they may not of had the first time in some cases. As expected with such deep rarities given second life can only be exposed by someone who deep digs. Having played all around Berlin and recently after making his debut in Berghain we are honoured to have Louis Satori take over the Off The Record mix for a cosmic selection of EBM, industrial, ambient, acid and more. We had a quick chat with Fogarty about the label, Susumu Yokota and what he has coming up.

Jabes is a South London producer and DJ making moves following independent releases on Klunk and a recent collaboration with UK underground Bass come Techno stalwart Happa.

His sound draws upon a lineage of experimental music rooted in UK bass culture, built upon the influences of big sound systems, small dark smoky rooms and hooded nights spent lurking outside pubs on street corners.

His music is atmospheric and dense, leading to recent support from Batu who has just released his new EP on longstanding label and club night Timedance.  For fans of the label, this release comes with a certain degree of expectation in respect of sound design and tone – it doesn’t fail to disappoint.

Jabes looks set to have a promising future and we fully expect to see him banging down clubs and festivals this coming year and if this mix is anything to go by then we suggest ear plugs as standard.

This one is sick.

A Day In Lithuania

Mother of Whomp Party, Annx invites, Norman Khan for the latest ‘Sound of Whomp’. Expect an hour-long journey paying homage to the minimal/progressive sound exclusively featuring tunes from between the years of 1996-2004. After D Hux (@dominic-huxley) absolutely smashed warm-up duties at one of our first ever Whomps, founder Annx (@anna-rose-wirth) invited him on the ‘Sound of Whomp’ to show us what he’s got deep in his collection. 


One third of Pala Sounds party crew and mastermind behind Quarantine Vibe Checks, D Hux has put together an hour vinyl-only mix inspired by “the peak time slot bag” — selected perfectly to see in the sunrise. Tuck in to this deliciousness.

Next up on ‘The Sound of Whomp’ is Must Sebra (@mustsebra). Translated as Black Zebra 🦓, Must Sebra is an up-and-coming Estonian-based DJ and a newly-appointed resident at underground rave and label Halal Club in Tallinn. 

Expect an hour of rolling minimal bouncy techno with underlying psychedelic tones weaved together - thank you for the deep trip!

Sound of Whomp w/ Must Sebra 08/04/23

Mother of Whomp Annx (@annx-anna-whomp) has invited Lyon-based Subsism (@subsism): DJ, producer and co-founder of the ATOM collective for the latest edition of ‘The Sound of Whomp’. 

Subsim has put together an infectious hour of pumping froggy psy showing his eclectic selection across trance, breaks and bass. 

Checkout his debut EP on Matiere, a contribution on the fiery Crazed Behaviour label, and more to come, Subsism has not finished making a name for himself in France and beyond. Thanks for the rocket ship ride!

Next up Mother of Whomp Annx (@annx-anna-whomp) invited Muddy Puppy on ‘The Sound of Whomp’ -  up-and-coming London-based duo comprised of Olive (@oliveoiley) and Jen (@jenharkness).

They’ve put together an hour of digs that twist and turn through the depths of tech house, from melodic squelchy rollers to euphoric warpers with a healthy dose of proggy pumpers for good measure.
