Fierce high school friends, the duo and their highly esteemed ONO Records have breathed a new spark, energy and sense of collaboration into their coastal home of Boorloo.

A doggedly defiant two-man DIY team, James Enderby and Warwick Montgomery have made their mark on the dance music community. Coordinating a duo of records from producers e-Plume and Guy Contact in a year since the label’s inception. A regular show on Skylab Radio, and DJ appearances at much-lauded parties System, Weekend at Bernie's Festival and Oochie Koochie. Rubbing shoulders with artists such as Ben UFO, Marcellus Pitman, Pariah and Hybrid Man. 

Effortlessly stringing together sounds that span crystalline ambience, downtempo pub-chug and smoked-out peak-time heaters their singular take on performing is holistic, fluid and thorough.

The duo Max & Mitch have been playing records together for over 10 years now despite still being in their 20s. This coupled with running one of the most well-respected underground labels to come out of the UK in recent years, has led the pairing to have a varied & extensive record collection with knowledge & understanding of the craft well beyond their years. 


This translates into energized dancefloors across Europe, a monthly Rinse FM show, and a residency at infamous Aberdeen nightspot The Tunnels as well Glasgow’s Sub Club & La Cheetah,  the latter from which they still run their label parties. The trailblazing duo knows how to keep the dance floor pumping, transcending genres, and playing tracks with the club in mind alongside rare hidden gems only the most ardent digger can find. They play with fluidity & energy that can only be achieved by having spent thousands of hours DJing alongside each other and having a deep understanding of what makes dancefloors tick.

"I’ve really been digging these older records I’ve got from like '98 - '03 that are sitting in this little sweet spot between tech house and techno. They have a real repetitive trancey vibe to them but in an off kilter kind of way. I wanted to mix these together with some more understated tunes that I have that I don’t get to play so much. I’ve really been loving these more moody tracks and b side vibe productions at the moment - probably a reflection of my own mood because of the weather in Melbourne at the moment, but it’s nice to get a chance to give these records a run that might be too challenging or moody for a summer dance floor full of smiles. As always there’s a mix of old and new, but it’s all on the same tip."

Free Shelter invites The Three Musketeers of Berlin, @astralvipz, for their 30th guest mix on IDA Helsinki.

The trio that is Astral VIP was, in their own words, inscribed on the seat of a rusty bike left abandoned in a hof. Clearly a sign from the universe, it went on to become the name of a collective of three friends (Dugong, Big Leg & Nipuna) who’s musical idiosyncrasies aligned all over the genre map. 

So how does this sound pertain of these fine gents? Think: Variations in percussion with the funk in mind. Take that how ever you want it. Come witness yet another Astral Drive-by. Skrrrrrrrrt.

One third of Pala Sounds party crew and mastermind behind Quarantine Vibe Checks, D Hux has put together an hour vinyl-only mix inspired by “the peak time slot bag” — selected perfectly to see in the sunrise. Tuck in to this deliciousness.

For the 10th edition of the series, we welcome the always impressive Bethan. This London based dj, and regular of the much loved queer venue, Dalston Superstore has been carving out a name for herself in the capital over the last couple of years. Across just 60 minutes, Bethan delves into trance, house, and breakbeat for a taste of what to expect from this exciting artist.

'This mix mainly consists of progressive house/trance & hard house tracks that I've discovered and/or played out lately. I didn't really intend for the mix to be a high NRG one, but it was fun to record and a good example of what you can expect to hear me play in the basement of Dalston Superstore.'

Gabriella is a graphic designer, illustrator, and DJ from Melbourne, who's work has been popping up in our feeds for quiet some time now. Her work is fluid and organic in nature, and evokes a sensation of sound and movement.
