Stereo mixes of some of the 'waves' of sound that wash through the We Are Not Alone  installation space. It's tricky to make a representative mix down of ambisonics, wave field synthesis and ultrasonic sound beam into a normal stereo track. These sounds serve just as a simple illustration of the basic materials.

Odd Nosdam - Sisters (Boards of Canada remix)

For Flute, Percussion, Piano, Violin, Cello and 2 reel-to-reel tape recorders. Performed and recorded by Ensemble Fabrique on 23rd September 2011 at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, Brisbane, Australia. 

Quasi is a graphically scored guided improvisation for small ensemble, produced in collaboration with Brisbane-based group, Ensemble Fabrique. The score is essentially a set of basic instructions - for example, beginning at concert D4, gradually glissando up the range of the instrument, starting with long tones that gradually get shorter. As the performers navigate through the score, their performance is recorded in real time by the tape recorders, which then play it back progressively slower and slower. The result is a piece that keeps expanding until it collapses under its own weight.

Extract from 'Urban Melt in Park Palais Meran' (4'55-8'48). In binaural for headphone listening.

All source materials for this piece are from a single recording made in a public park in Graz. The recording was made with an EigenMike. I then decomposed the spatial soundfield to be able to extract individual sound sources and track their positions in space. This material then fed back into the composition.

This is the binaural (headphones) version of 'Optical Tubes'. 'Optical Tubes' is movement 2 from the work 'Hidden Values', composed originally in 7th order 3D higher order ambisonics for the Espace de Projection, IRCAM, France.
