Like so many others out there, I'm a huge fan of Tom Waits for his songwriting and performances. And this song is one of his earlier beauties, simple and direct. Such a story teller, a scene painter and the master of the story within the story, the acceptance and resignation. The lover of pretty things in a shadowy world. I recorded this quick and dirty on my iPhone, no mic, just the basic song...because I love singling it.

Boy did it hit home and sure fits with things today.  This is another song
that Mike (Lefty Mike) did a little magic and added bass, harp and his

Nat and I are both long-time fans of the great crooner, Roy Orbison. Like us, it seems he was a hopeless romantic, so we have contemplated this cover for some time. But it was a challenge to change it up from the classic original that Roy recorded back in 1961. Here we’ve given it a bit of a spin in several ways. Most notably you’ll hear us divide the song into two parts, the man who cries and the woman who goodbyes. Hopefully Roy would approve, but most importantly we hope you’ll enjoy this take on “Crying”. (Written by Roy Orbison & Joe Melson)

I was going through the Tony Harris collection and came across this little gem he'd written years ago , so I asked him if I could have a go at a complete revamp , he said yes and this is the result , I hope you like it as much as I do ! On the 22nd is a super song with Gaz and Nat , and on the 1st of September is my first outing with fantastic German orchestral composer Axel Menningen , I'm doing a duet with R and B singer Kim . Working on a new song with Axel and Charlotte at the moment , as usual it's all go ! Thank you so much for listening !

Jim Croce moved to New York in 1968 to pursue a music career.  New York never felt like home to Jim.  In 1971 he returned to a little farm house in Pennsylvania where he wrote so many of his songs.  While leaving New York and sleeping in his car, the sight of New York City's skyline gave him the idea for this song.  Mark and I love this tune.  Thank you Jim Croce for all you music. Another live interpretation of an old classic love song, this one was originally written by Jimmy Duncan and first recorded by the Sonny Land Trio back in 1957. But this caught most of our attention from the Bobby Helms recording later that same year. I’ve also been a big fan of the version released in 1968 by The Vogues. This started as a live recording that Nat once again brought to full life with her beautiful accompanying vocals and instrumental nuances.

This beautiful ballad was written by Michael Nesmith, probably best known as one of The Monkees, but remembered here as a solo artist. Sadly this was his only top 40 success though I feel he had other well written efforts. This is another one of our recordings that started with a raw live performance with some minor post-live enhancements.
