I’ve always had plants in my studio, and someone once told me that even if sunlight is limited, the constant presence of music playing every day helps keep the plants healthy.

I don’t know about that, , but they look great and seem to grow steadily.

“Record music to help a forest grow.”

I believe that simply having musicians play acoustic instruments in the forest would only bring good to it.

Here I just played “woody”, natural percussion instruments, bamboo drums, wood sticks and blocks, conch shells, cuica, marimba, bombo legüero, talking drum and some other toys. I recorded 3 versions, this is the “fast” one.

At the top of the hill, in that old field, was a piano. It was weathered and quickly decaying but still making sounds.

Using field recordings I made in Varanasi, India, some older experimental material, and a ground, "vanishing point" is a piece that lets the listener wander inside a wide open space with quiet microsounds and lush clouds.   But, this is the radio edit - so you have 3 minutes.

Darren Bourne’s surreal poem came to life while he was making AI video experiments based on Salvador Dalí’s Metamorphosis of Narcissus.

"According to expert Jane Reichhold, the hai of haiku means “joke, or fun, or unusual”, which is part of the inspiration behind the name halF unusuaL, the experimental electronic music project of Darren Bourne, who also writes haiku and has been published by the British Haiku Society."
