Josephine’s Soundscapes is a project comprising sound collages and Dj sets that embrace certain atmospheres of escape and electricity, a collection of random sequences, pensive oscillations, erratic voices drifting across decades (from landscape to living room), nocturnality and a rare, as in slight, intensity. Part of creative cell a_mal_gam_a with deejay Diskoan, spreading its hypnagogic shroud over a number of club nights and special events from its residency at listening club Avalovara. Josephine’s Soundscapes is an experimental incarnation of transversal studio Machines Désirantes Buró, based in Madrid.

"Recently I had a long talk with friends about AI, Deep Learning and Quantum Physics. It is mind blowing thinking about the fabric of our reality as well as the possibilities current and future technologies provide for humanity. I find it easy to be overwhelmed by these topics as they make me question our role as people in this world and how that’s going to change. In order to find a peace of mind and remind myself of the beauty of being alive I created this mix."


In difficult times where one crisis follows the next one its easy to loose hope. But music has always been there to shine a bright light in peoples lives despite the circumstances, whether it’s experiencing a sense of togetherness on the dance-floor or finding relaxation in solitude. In this context Antifatigue strives to spread optimism with multi-genre grooves - Emotional Dance and Ambient Music that makes you smile, dance, and forget about your worries even if just for a little while.

As we start this Polën Manifesto podcasts series dedicated to ambient music, we're both excited and overwhelmed facing this blank page we're about to fill with the history of the Polën label.

Dealing with a subject as rich as ambient music means having to draw on the vast range of musical colors and materials at our disposal in order to form a coherent statement, a sensible vision.

So the real question is: what do we really want to say?

To begin shaping the word of the Polën, label curators Paul Rêve & Hidolas share with us the best of their ambient library. A mix that grabs us by the heart and takes us on a voyage of discovery into the diversity of ambient music.

Christian Duka is an electronic musician, sound artist & designer, immersive audio specialist and higher education lecturer. His musical outputs span the experimental and left-field electronic dance music both in his solo work and ongoing collaborative projects Vādin (with Avsluta) and MARMO (with Marco Maldarella). 

Christian's passion for immersive sound was sparked by a month-long residency at MONOM 4D Sound in Berlin and blossomed into his multi-disciplinary project UR: Human Presence — an artistic experience involving 3D sound, contemporary dance and performance art. Amazed by the creative potential of spatial audio, in 2019 he founded AMOENUS, an immersive art organisation that supports the development of immersive audio in the arts via R&Ds, events and workshops, most recently on their own custom made 16.4 sound system currently installed at The Bath House in London.

"This is a DJ set recorded on November 25, 2022 at Forestlimit in Tokyo.

I really like that when I listen to music, when I close my eyes and concentrate on the sound, I get the feeling that various things, such as sound particles and waves, are entering me. It feels very comfortable as it feels like you are facing your own feelings. 

Knowing who you really are is very important, and it's almost like a theme in life. When I make music or play a DJset, I want to help people relax and take time with themselves."
