INTERSUM's second release of 2022 comes from the greatly talented CTAFAD. 
Over the years, CTAFAD (aka Sun Dawei) has become well travelled, as a guitarist, an ambient composer and producer, a label manager, and has done work for fashion shows and television. 
CTAFAD is an artist with a proven track record, unafraid of transformation and metamorphosis, bravely open to taking on new forms and developing constantly.

Réfléchissant is a pensive collection of swirling, vortex like minimal techno continuing to develop the style and sound set forth on CTAFAD's current body of work with Shanshui, GSXS and Indefinite Pitch.

Remixes come from the elusive Rainsoft and label manager Mechanist.

Techno with its characteristic depth, in which ambient and atmospheric textures function in symbiosis with dance grooves, is a hallmark of both his productions and DJ sets, which we highly appreciate. In the nineties a move to the UK came as a consequence of his studies and with him a pulsating eagerness which helped Lateral Movement to dive right into the local music culture, effervescent as ever. There he meandered effortlessly through genres, taking him deeper into the arts whilst aiding his curiosity, from free jazz to indietronica. Returning to his homeland, Portugal, subtracted him from this rich diversity and forced him to become a strong supporter of the alternative scenes, where he looked to push people and projects that shared his values and vision. There and then he decided to embark on a different kind of journey and took upon himself the responsibility of discovering new music and to share it with the community. To this day techno and its many guises are his passion, especially the deeper and hypnotic realms, where ambience and atmosphere play the main role.

Born in Lyon, Julien is the founder of ART YOU OUT, a collective dedicated to promoting techno music in Paris. "I wanted to take things deep and start off slowly, around 110 BPM. As I began mixing, I stumbled upon some incredible psychedelic tracks by chance. The energy gradually increased, leading us to a blend of techno and cosmic techno tracks. It all builds up to a powerful finale, a moment of redemption."
