Welcome to EP-93 of the NDYD Radio Show. This set was recorded live in Los Angeles on June 11th, 2016 at The Lincoln Speakeasy on the West Side.  This is my second recording on the radio show from this upscale underground and I went DEEP. Not only because I was opening before the DEEP master, Marques Wyatt but also because this set was a late night set that started at 1am. A little different than what I usually play but this was appropriate for the crowd that had come to see us. I hope you enjoy it with open ears :)

I cant believe this is the 100th Episode! We have not missed one, meaning that for 100 weeks you've had a different episode of great music. So what is so special about this episode? First of all we start off with our Label Boss Kris Santiago's (@krissantiago) debut single on our own label! And it was worth the wait. Besides that this two hour special episode are tracks that you've never heard on any of the 99 previous episodes. Not an easy task. These are mainly tracks that I listen to in the car or when I'm doing stuff at home. Basically my personal favorites. I wanted to share them with you and I hope you will enjoy.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
