This one's a treat, recorded live from their home town residency night in Shortts Terrace, Waterford, the Get Down Edits lads play a wide range of musical styles, tempos and you can really hear how comfortable they are with the crowd.

It's inspiring to see how far Get Down Edits have come in the last few years since that Herb Albert edit hit my inbox and the first time we had them as guest dj's at one of our nights in Dublin to now, where you are very likely to catch them djing in any European city most weekends.

Since the late 90’s Waterford born duo Daz and Martin have been tearing up dance floors across the country and further a field with their unique fusion of 70’s and 80’s funk and soul, Nu-Disco and their own disco edits; Get Down Edits: Vol 1-3. The two lads have bags of experience to match their talent and our guaranteed to get a party started as soon as the turntables are switched on. With a mammoth vinyl collection between the two of them you can expect to hear an eclectic mix of tracks every time they put together a set, making each one unmissable. The boys have gained praise from some of the biggest names in House such as Brooklyn stalwart Kerri Chandler, who was greatly impressed by the ‘Get Down Edits’ sound when he played alongside the pair a few years back. With ‘Get Down Edits: Vol 1-3’ all selling out it is clear to say that their productions are as tight as their sets. Get Down Edits have also released tracks on a range of other labels including Disco Deviance, Editorial, Midnite Riot, Glenview Records and Los Grandes. The Get Down Edits groove has been brought to festivals and gigs across Europe such as the Electric Elephant festival in Croatia, Disco Deviance in London and back to back dates in Budapest at the end of 2011. Daz and Martin have also brought some great international acts to our shores for their own successful club-night, ‘Get Down’ (Chez Damier, John Daly and Greg Wilson to name but three). 2012 has been a great year to date with gigs in Newcastle and in London at the House of Disco Warehouse Project, it also seen their most recent edit outing, Get Down Edits Vol:3, selling out on Juno within a few days of its release. The guys are already making plans for volume four which is sure to be jam packed with killer edits yet again. Welcome to EP-162 of the NDYD Radio Show. From the outer reaches of the discoverse zooms, our guest this week The Silver Rider, a trans-dimensional traveller and purveyor of fine disco, house, funk and soul. Crash landing in Austin, TX in 1984 and raised as the Earthly son of discotheque proprietors, The Silver Rider, nee’ Davey Schacherl, was fed a steady diet of mono synths, Garage-classics and party culture ethics which sharpened his many talents. Gaining his first club residency by age 18, Davey continued to hone his skills in the Austin club and rave circuit and earned a respected position in the local community. Having since played tunes on both American coasts and provided guest sets in countless major cities, Davey finally put his sights on the studio and began concocting dancefloor magic with his tracks and edits.

Always keeping a deep and disco aesthetic, The Silver Rider’s efforts have found favor with label’s such as Whiskey Disco, Smokecloud Records and Editor’s Kutz and garnered support from global luminaries like Jacques Renault, The Reflex and Eddie C.  Not only has The ‘Rider’s tunes made booties boogie in every hemisphere of the planet, but the boppers are sure to turn out whenever Davey occupies the decks. His sets are infectious, electric, organic and brimming with soul and personality... expect a wide selection of grooves and tempos from the obscure to the euphoric. Spreading stardust and extraterrestrial vibes wherever the cosmos take him, The ‘Rider aims to inject funk into the bloodstreams of millions of un-funky, non-rhythm-having, so called party-people.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
