Joining in with the upcoming festivities, Black Light Disco is proud to serve up a plump, roast disco joint (with all the trimmings) from our own BLD resident, Goz!

Hailing from Scotland, Goz has had a huge influence on the international disco scene. As host of 'Spin City', a show which airs on New York's 'MyHouse Radio FM', (the station was recently awarded Number 1 House Station and blog in the world)he has showcased many of the world's leading DJs and producers of disco and house whilst also treating listeners to his own considerable talents as an accomplished DJ and collector of fine music.

Goz started DJ'ing in the early 1990s and it wasn't long before he was completely immersed in learning how to beat match and the technicalities of making a mix sound good. Although he took an extended break from DJ'ing in the 'noughties', he never lost the love for quality music and was always still on the hunt for new tunes and mixes from his favourtie Dj's. Returning to his passion, Goz wasted little time in getting back into the groove. Although Goz admits to his musical tastes changing quite a bit over the years, his love of disco, soul, funk and hip hop has always been strong. Goz is a huge promoter of new music and supporter of new talent (which is probably why there isn't a promo list he isn't on!) 

In the last few years Goz has been part of another influential radio show, House Theory which has carved out a huge following due to its knack of landing both established and upcoming talent for guest mixes. 

In the summer of 2019 we were delighted to welcome Goz aboard the Black Light Disco adventure, and it's fair to say he's a firm favourite of this parish! His sets are always constructed with utmost care and attention to detail, taking the listener on a seamless, melodic journey. This set definitely fits that bill, so sit back with your favourite festive tipple and enjoy!

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
