Welcome to EP216 of the NDYD Radio Show. I know I missed last week show so to make up for it I made this one twice as long and I have to admit it turned out to be one of my favorites episodes to record this year. For no particular reason except that every track in this show is the kind of track that will drag me to dance floor. In other words these are the kind of tracks that really get me going. I am so happy that producers are sticking with making fun groovy disco infused tracks as oppose to the EDM'ish tracks that were dominating the dance floors before the pandemic. Now clubs, promoters, and people  just want to get their groove on and have fun when dancing. I'm all for that. Enjoy!

Over the last few months I've had a few listeners reach out and ask when was I going to do another  lounge/downtempo show. As you know, DJs hate getting requests but for this I had to oblige.  I listen to this style of music all day long as I work and it's true that it has been a while since I done a set with this vibe. 💜Forest Meeting is a very groovy love story full of deep mystery, sweet longing and wild desire, where the boundaries between the human world and the realm of the forest spirits are fading, and we get to meet and dance together under the setting sun and the low hanging branches of ancient trees.
The story itself is based on a love story from Witch Princess ongoing fantasy book that she has been writing on for over a decade, her own experience with being alone in nature and connecting with nature spirits, and also it draws some of the magic of a very powerful meeting she had in woods one summer…

It's been wayyyyyyy too hot here in Los Angeles. To chill out a bit I did a chill / downtempo episode to cool down :) Got a lot of messages from the listeners to do another one so why not? These are some of my favs chill track that I used to play on the Riviera in the south of France at those daytime parties. Good times!

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
