An audio-visual artist, music producer, DJ & Live Performer who is always in pursuit of quality sound in the studio, and on the stage, Nasser Alshemimry has been a key member of the Kingdom's limited yet booming electronic music and arts scene. With several releases to date and a plethora of prestigious commissions and art installations in the audio visual arts medium, including commissions by Misk Art Institute and Ithraa World Heritage Center groundbreaking collaborations with the likes of Imogen Heap, the Saudi audio pioneer has rightfully earned his stripes and has proven to be a creative force to be reckoned with, in the Gulf region and beyond.

With this stellar portfolio, Nasser focuses on his sonic exploration of the dance-floor, and graces Thawra records with his latest Complex Arguments EP, showcasing his dance music affinities with 3 original tracks that offer a pristine deep-house energy, with melodic twists and turns crafted from dreamy analog textures. Welcome back to the "Disco Data Podcast'.

This month we have a guest mix from Señor Peludo. 

Originally a UK based dnb and breaks DJ, he began branching into other genres of music after moving to the USA and starting his own club night. With diverse and esoteric tunes, and a vibe inspired by UK festivals, 'Sunken Disco' was a successful effort to combat the dominance of sleazy top-40 events in his city. 

Since then, Peludo lived and DJ'd in Germany for a while and has also played many sets at the Burning Man festival in Nevada. 

He's currently splitting his time between Stockholm and London and can't wait to get DJing again in both cities and beyond, once this Covid business blows over. 

Peludo used to livestream on NSB radio and Twitch pretty regularly but after becoming a Dad last year, his evenings now involve less rocking-the-decks and more rocking-the-baby.

We are back with a fantastic guest mix by one of our favorite  family member, DJ Martin Taylor (@djmartintaylor) of the UK. This episode was suppose to be up last week but because of schedule conflicts (from my end) I had to push it to this week. I'm actually glad I did because Martin took it up a notch on the 'ready to dance' set as I did last week. So in reality I kind of open up for him and warmed you guys up to his amazing selections. FIrst thing first. A huge thank you to brother @cloakdaggernyc for taking over the show last week. As always he didn't disappoint with his beautiful Nu Disco set in which he played some of his own tracks. This def ain't last time you hear from him as he is part of the NDYD fam. 

Cloak sets the bar high when he is a guest so i'm gonna try to keep up with him and get your ears attention by taking you to the deep end of the NDYD pool. I've been very busy these last few weeks with multiple projects. I did not have time to record a new show this week so instead I am posting a live set I did this summer for a private event for a company called SACO in New York City. The audience was very diverse so I kept the music light and mid-tempo with a lot of edits that they would recognize. Apologies for the roughness in the first few mixes but I had monitor issues. Once they fixed it it went smooth as butter :) Hey, it's live.

This is only two and half hours of the 6 hour (!) set I did. Maybe in the future I will post the rest. Next week we return with a special guest from Miami.

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Recently, Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
