Something funny happened this week as I was hanging out on Abbott Kinney in Venice Beach and having a coffee. I was on the phone speaking with a friend and our conversation turned to House Music and the radio show. The people next to me couldn't help but over hear my conversation and when I was done two people approached me. They told me they were fans of the show (wow) and they have these private events locally where the people who attend are true House Heads who love their music served on the underground side. One of these events was happening on Saturday and they invited me to play :) Underground, House Music, and people who are connaisseurs, how can I say no? Well, I did play at this little private gathering and I brought my recorder. Here is the recording of what transpired and I had a blast playing for these folks who were really the dictionary's definition of House Heads. It looks like I'll be doing this again soon as it seems they really enjoyed it. Now it's your turn  to enjoy this recording so... enjoy :)

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
