Welcome to EP216 of the NDYD Radio Show. I know I missed last week show so to make up for it I made this one twice as long and I have to admit it turned out to be one of my favorites episodes to record this year. For no particular reason except that every track in this show is the kind of track that will drag me to dance floor. In other words these are the kind of tracks that really get me going. I am so happy that producers are sticking with making fun groovy disco infused tracks as oppose to the EDM'ish tracks that were dominating the dance floors before the pandemic. Now clubs, promoters, and people  just want to get their groove on and have fun when dancing. I'm all for that. Enjoy!

EP-226 is here! and a couple of notes about it. First, yes it is my B-day episode cause it falls on the day i recorded it this year. Secondly, I recorded this episode right after I went to see and hear Louie Vega play here in Hollywood as he was head-lining a DEEP event with Marques Wyatt . He, being the Master that he is, played AMAZING and got me so inspired that as soon as I got home (which was real late) I turned on the decks and got cooking. You can hear how he inspired me from the beginning of the show. Since it was my B-day a couple of friends joined me and well, I played for them and turned on the recorder. Nobody had to twist my rubber arm for that. I was having so much fun that I even took out a couple of vinyl records that I still had and used to play in the mid-80s when I was into the whole New Wave thing in High School and College.

For the millennial fans, vinyl records are 12" plastic discs that we used to physically touch to cue up and to play music from 😁

It sucks to get old but it sure is fun to still play music - and it keeps me young 😉

RANDOM SOUL RECORDINGS PODCAST - OCTOBER 2021

I am sure making up for all those months where there was 'radio silence' on the show. Number 229 is up. Out of all the radio shows I've been doing since the early 2000s, NDYD is without a doubt the one with the most episodes. That is a lot of a music since EP 1 and no plans to stop anytime soon. It was a big weekend here in Los Angeles as the Super Bowl was hosted in the city and our local LA RAMS were in it. Oh, and we also WON! I'm not the biggest football fan but it was fun to watch and root for our town. Honestly, like a lot of other non football fans, I was there for one thing: to watch that halftime show. All I can say is WOW! What performance by Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and 50cent. I felt like a high school girl from the 90s watching her favorite boy band on TV. For real, the best halftime show ever (and I also count in there Prince's 2007 performance). It was truly amazing to see those performers on stage right there in Inglewood. It was just magic. I've replayed the show a couple of times since yesterday on Youtube.

I know I said last week that I would have a special guest this week but the Super Bowl threw a monkey wrench into that. I was lucky that I recorded this show earlier this week to have something today. Everyone in town who had plans this weekend was delayed somehow. So next week, I promise to have that guest mix as things get back to normal. Thank you for understanding and enjoy this set dedicated to our LA RAMs :)
